They all make about the same power & 0.2 second performance gains, even the $100 DIY versions. The JTs may have slightly better top end power due to the bigger front ductwork, but for your request of better low end power you’re likely not to notice a difference between any intakes.Alright, now that it's finally time for me to buy an intake, I'm more confused than ever. If you look at the fastest Stingers based on 0-60 and 1/4 mile times in the Dragy app, the vast majority of them are using K&N intakes, next is Injen. Prior to seeing that, I was going to buy the JTs. But at literally double the cost of the K&Ns and a 10 week minimum lead time, I may change gears and get the K&Ns instead.
Edit: I just took a look at the 1/4 mile thread on this forum and it looks like some people may not be updating their intake info on the Dragy app. @Kato_the_kia_stinger, for example, now has a JT intake according to this forum even though he has a K&N filter listed in the Dragy app. Too bad things weren't as simple as "This will give you the best performance increase"
If the JTs will actually give the best gains, I don't mind spending the extra and waiting. But I'm having a hard time finding a definitive answer.
Side note, current performance mods are a JB4 on Map 2 with 93 octane, Denso plugs, DIY intakes, Mishimoto intercooler, Ark secondaries, lightweight wheels.
Edit 2: Found this old post about Tonkabob's results:
.2 seconds is quite a gain. But are people with the K&N kits seeing similar gains? I haven't found that info yet.
As others have said choose them based on looks and/or budget since the power gains are all very similar.
