What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

What tires are they? they seem to have a lot of sipes / grooves (for a UHP summer tire)
Nankang NS-25, UHP all season

Had to do a double take here - you put a 245/35 on a 9" wide rim. The stock 8.5" rim has a 255/35.

Are you going for a mild stance look here with the stretched sidewalls? Combined with the wheels it definitely makes for a unique set up. The two tone is pretty legit.
Honestly this was the recommended setup from the vendor, audiocityusa.

Ran my VIN through the Kia Owner Portal Safety Recall check this morning because of a news article regarding new engine recalls that may affect Stingers.

From the article:

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 180,000 model-year 2019-21 Hyundai Tucson SUVs, as well as some 9,400 model-year 2019 Kia Stinger hatchbacks equipped with 3.3-liter T-GDI engines

The Problem: An engine compartment fire may occur in the area where the hydraulic electronic control unit for the antilock brakes is located, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

The Fix: Hyundai dealers will replace the Tucsons’ hydraulic ECU for free. The remedy for Stingers is still under development.

What Owners Should Do: Hyundai will begin notifying owners Oct. 30; Kia will begin notifying owners Oct. 26.

 Nothing came up when I searched my VIN. Hopefully I am lucky, but I will keep checking to see if any updates are issued.

The vehicles being recalled are no newer than 2015. This runs the same numbers and dates as the other articles about fire hazard, but how can a 2021 be affected? They aren't even sold yet. The recall of earlier vehicles began in 2019 and runs through 2021.

This is a new recall issue; not the Optima/Sorento/Santa Fe break fluid leak from a couple of months ago. This concerns a hydraulic control sensor for the ABS that could corrode and cause a fire.

Again, I ask how a 2021 model can be recalled?

I call BS until Kia officially does it. Not some Net site; published today for the first time. Really?

Why would a MY19 Stinger have a corrosive prone ABS sensor and not MY18 and MY20?

2021 model year cars can be released as early as checks calendar 2020. So that applies. And this says it only applies to 2019 Stingers anyway.

Where do you think these sites get their news from? Kia and Hyundai. I'm not sure why today's date makes this less reputable, plus Cars.com is pretty legit.

Car companies shift suppliers all the time, so I don't know why it would be a surprise that this model year could be the only one affected. Maybe it's due to workmanship or a bad production batch.

Cool out, bud. I don't make the news, I'm just letting others know what I saw.

Another article about it

A little tib-bit from the news article.

Put my vin in and it said “The VIN you entered is invalid”. I have a 2019 and I put the correct vin in.
Sure I like fires just not in my car.

I had all the door panel chrome trim and sunroof trim replaced under warranty for my 19 Ceramic GT2. The roof trim was color matched.

So it recognized your vin but not mind. Wonder if it‘s just US models. But that doesn’t really make sense either.
Yes it showed my model and trim when entering my VIN

Yeah, they probably have a separate site for US / Canada and each recognizes only VINs for that country.

My 2019 GT1 was clear - as of today. My guess is they haven't updated anything yet. Something like ~13K 2019 Stingers were sold in the US - 9400 is probably ALL the 3.3s.
