• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

I currently have the standard exhaust and am I right is assuming that when you set the exhaust in settings for enhanced sound you can only discern the difference in sport mode or are there other modes like smart it works in. I find it hard to hear the difference, maybe cause Im an oldy

It should be the same in all modes id assume as it is an artificial sound. Also should be quieter in Red cars as they are notably slower. Lol.

I spotted that too!

That poor Stinger. Seeing those photos makes me want to go and give my Stinger a hug.
I'm hearing you :)

@starman, it's a proven fallacy that Red Car's are faster, sorry, proof is in your right foot and fast reflexes, I have Cat like reactions

I would have thought with all the current TV adverts on the Stinger sales would have been high, with just 2 coming in I hope the Stinger live on for many years. Best car out there - far better than the Lexus IS / RC.
Blue is a great color but sorry 2nd only to the red as it obviously goes faster.
Are you getting the Bimodal fitted?.
Oh and welcome to the hive
/\
Night Sky Edition comes with bi-modal and grey leather.

Sorry white is the sexiest :p :)

Sorry, wrong on both counts as I have found. Definitely the artificial sound only works in Sport Mode and for me it sounds ok.
I do think Red looks so much faster and a definite head turner that I dont need the sound of the Bimodal. If it increased performance especially in the 0-100km then I would certainly splash out $3000.

It is a lot of money, but if you can afford it, definitely one of the best mods you can do to the Stinger. Changes the car's character by so much in the best way. But like you said, a red Stinger looks fast just standing there.

If offered, I would have seriously considered a Hichroma Red, with bi-modal, & light grey nappa, but I'm very happy with the Micro Blue.
Though I saw the opposite (a grey with red leather in Sydney (with mods JT CAU, throttle chip), might be a member), but it just didn't pop IMO.
Looks like I get my Night Sky on 24 Jul.
So very excited.

It will be worth the wait. Let us know how you go.

Thats why i went the Ark grip and Dcb, faster on both accounts. Lol.

Yeah, 0 performance gain from bi-modal, but it is a nice sound.
Better than German cars that pump the exhaust sound through the speakers lol.
I do have an s65 motor (which has 1 of the best sounds) to compare it to.
Yes, I moved from German to Korean.
I think Kia poaching 3 top hires from BMW: Head of Engineering at BMW M Division; Head of Design @ BMW; & the Lead Designer for the BMW i8 really shows in the Stinger, so i bought 1.

I think Kia also poached a top designer from Audi.

I saw a stinger GT review video which demos the side flaps of the drivers seat moving to kinda hold you in your seat in Sport mode. Does the Aussie 2020 model do this as mine does not seem to?.

Anyone order recently from

I only ask because so far its been a month and my order tracking says still in USA waiting to leave.
Sal has been very helpful & just sent a replacement but I paid for First Class Shipping not snail class using USPS.
Have any others in Australia experience a long delivery cycle?.

I love my Stinger and was parked in Armadale train station and the cops came over to admire it, they were very impressed. First time thats happened to me,,, Yipeeeiioooo

1st Question - Yes the Bollards in the Seat are supposed to activate/move on the Drivers seat as soon as SPORT mode is Selected, if your's is not doing so then I'd be heading straight back to the dealer and asking why.. maybe try driving off in Comfort and then once you are moving select SPORTS Mode, it might be that you are selecting sport mode before driving off or getting comfy in the seat and not realizing that the seat has actually already moved? It still catches me out every now and then.

2nd Question - Yes, I also recently ordered some stuff from SAL, got my tracking number etc within a few hrs, but then it was over to the US Postal/UPS service and there were long delays.. My Package was ordered on the 6th July, arrived in Sydney on the 8th JULY according to the TRACKING website, but only got delivered in Perth on the 28th JULY.. so not SAL's fault, but the Courier Service.. Just be patient mate.

I have found that the "Bollards" do actually move in & out when you move the lever which is on the side of the round knob where you have the seat controls. They certainly do not move when the knob is turned to activate Sport. I cannot find any reference in the manual either.
Maybe on later models they changed it so you can manually set it up to be more permanent irrespective of what mode you are in.

Yes, I know its not Sals fault for the poor delivery, he actually has been very helpful in re sending my order.
So much for Trump trying to make America Great Again, then again if Biden gets in he is almost a geriatric.

That's very brave of you parking at the Armadale train station Starman. That striking red is like a beacon to all the losers that would be walking around that area. Know it very well. That's if its the Armadale in Perth that is.
