Wheel/size/offset and tire/size/profile...can be confusing.

Here we go!

Niche Methos 19x8.5 +35 and 19x9.5 +35
Continental ExtremeContact Sport 245/40 and 275/35

I am a touch concerned that the rear tires might rub the fender under very heavy compression, but I will have to wait and see about that. If they offered the wheel with a +40 offset, I probably should've gotten that.

You're probably going to be fine, just remember that as your suspension compresses, the suspension arms are tracing the radius of a circle, the wheels rotate into the wheel well.

This is the opposite of your setup and mine, but the logic still applies.

Indeed. Pretty sure that's the only reason I'm getting away with the clearance on the rears on mine.

Here's my wheel specs if you're curious:

19x10 +40

great shot of your car !!
I would have thought they were 20's, they fit super well !!

do you think I could achieve that look with a wider tire ? I am looking to buy Niche Vosso 19x8.5 all around - using the stock tire until they are gone but once done, looking forward to get better tire. Would 275/35 for the rear not ideal with the 19x8.5 ?

I am no expert, but my rears (19x9.5) are running 275/35 and I think thats about the narrowest wheel you should run with a 275. If you are going to go with 8.5 wide, I think 255 wide tire is the widest you would want to go.

That's based on this chart which was posted in a different thread:

It does really depend on the tire and profile. I have 285/30r20's on the back, but I could definitely put wider tires on this rim, I'm sure a 305/25 would fit just fine. However, then it comes down to diameter and clearance, even though I could go with a wider tire, the 285 has a perfect (in my eyes) taper into the wheel well.

The stock rears are 8.5, and the 255's looked narrow with the stock profile, I'm sure a 275 would look good on a stock wheel, however, squared you'll need to stick with 255/35 at 20x8.5+35. That should fit, might be a little close to the suspension. I know there are people running 255 fronts, but not 100% sure what their experience is.

What are some of your concerns/needs for fitment?

Here are some 19x8.5+35's

so if I went 19x8.5 all around, I should stick with 255 max ? I would agree with you that 255 looks narrow on the 19x8.5 oem wheels... I would like a bit more side wall to protect the wheels

do you know if he is lowered ? What kind of tire is he running ?

That's one person's chart - each manufacturer posts "allowable and suggested wheel width" for each tire. Check out the "specs" section on Tirerack.

I have Pilot Sport 4s in 245/40-18 on 18x8.5 +35 and 285/35-18 +35 on 18x9.5 without any issues so far (just got them before the lockdown). Wheels are Enkei TY-5 in black.

Based on your post#366 I must have misunderstood and thought he had 19x8.5 all around ...
Just front, that size won't be an issue in the back.

yeah, 19x8.5 is the oem size anyway.

do you suggest 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear or squared all around 19x8.5 ? I am not concerned about being wider on the rear as I could easily put 275/35 on the 8.5, right ? Cause based on post #365, the max for a 8.5inch is 255

My tire/wheel guys looked at the OE tires (which I stick with), and, being performance oriented, and having sounded me out on this to find out that I wanted to corner with maximum efficiency performance-wise, they upped the front width to 8.5", and, to keep the stretch evened out, they increased the rear width by a full inch, i.e. 9.5".

I think that if you put wider tires on the rear, just because you can, it does odd things to the handling, because of the added side wall flex. But if you keep the side wall flex (in my case , "stretch") even front and rear, not only does this perform more predictably, but it looks better too.

Hey guys I love the look of the Alfa Gulia GTA’s looking to replicate the look with my stinger trying to figure the offset is. I know it’s gonna be hard to tell from the picture but here we go. What do you guys think it is?0A856A64-1363-4FAF-99EA-4A9A384CC602.webp

10.5+45 or 11+50, mine are 20x10.5 and looks just about like that

Not a great picture, doesn't do it justice, I snapped this so that you couldnt see the front tire, but think it's probably pretty close to what you're looking for

All my photos are iPhone X photos, which have a wider angle lens than that Alfa was shot with, the perspective is a little different.

I'm assuming this is where your screen cap is from.

I know the Gulia has 20’s on it not sure the tire size. The center of the tire looks like it’s sticking out a good inch if not more.
