Wheel/size/offset and tire/size/profile...can be confusing.

I'm about to order my wheels and I can get a custom offset. I know that most people go a 10in +40 or a 10.5 +45 on the rear but do people think there is any value tucking it in a few mm to prevent rubbing on a 285? Was thinking maybe 10in +42 or 10.5 +48.

I bought 10.5 with 43mm offset.

Seemed to fit with 285s, but only had them on one day. (Firrstone scratched all four wheels mounting the tires, so they're being refinished).
Will post pics when I get them back.

Has anyone tried 8j square on a RWD car?

Definitely slightly inside, I would expect just like the Federation Stinger which you can see most clearly in this shot, I love this setup personally, just looking at a different style of wheel, though the Sprint is amazing looking.

You know what the specs are? I love that.

In that post says the setup is 1” taller than stock. You going the same tire size too?
Yup, it’s actually a little less than ¾”, but those sizes are exactly matched front and rear, other tire sizes aren’t as good a match or are smaller than stock, which isn’t ideal when going up to 20”

Could a guy go
19x9 +35 245/35/19
19 10.5 +40 285/30/19

mans achieve the stock height so it doesn’t raise?
Or have to use different offsets ?

I think there are tire sizes in the sheet for that, wheels and offset’s are fine

Really wish these would fit on my stock 18's. Guy would sell them for $350.00.2020-03-01.webp

Will that setup work with stock springs?
I'm pretty sure if it fits with lowering springs, it'll fit with stock. But do your due diligence. I bought my setup from Fitment Industries, and even with considerable back and forth (and kudos to them for putting up with all my questions) it was still kind of a nail biter when it came to actually installing.

Hey, so let me preface this with that I am still not a pro when it comes to wheels and tires

I am looking to get some wheels and tires for the summer (My GT1 AWD came with All Seasons). Here is what I think I want to do wheel wise:
19x8.5 35mm and 19x9.5 35mm

I know the offsets will be fine, but for the life of me I can't land on what tire sizes I should get. I have been looking at the first post, spreadsheets and the rest of this thread and nothing is really popping out to me as the obvious choice. It's my understanding that I should find tires that are as close to the same diameter as stock, as well as each other (since I am going with a staggered set up).

I see that 245/35 and 285/30 are the same, but slightly smaller than stock diameter, but 255/35 and 295/30 are the same as each other and the same as stock.

Would putting 255/35 on 8.5in wide wheels and 295/30 on 9.5in wheels work? I guess I just don't have much reference in what tire widths are appropriate for what wheel widths. Apologies if this has been asked and answered, but nothing has obvious has popped out to me about tire/wheel width pairings.

Edit: For more info, I don't want super low profile or stretch tires because the roads in MI are hilariously bad. I would like at least some sidewall as protection.

This is for 20" wheels, not 19's, you're probably looking at going from 225 to 245 in the front and 255 to 275 in the rear, I would check wheel-size.com from the links in the spreadsheet to confirm aspect ratio for those tires, you'll want to stay somewhere within 26-26.5" overall diameter.

Your options of 255/35 and 295/30 would work well.
Best chart you can use is:
2020 Kia Stinger GT1 Tires
If you are worried about width of the wheel then keep your eye on the numbers in the "wheel" part.

This is the chart I used, and I did have it set to 19:
