I have been driving my 2019 2.0T since March. After 3k miles with no
mods, I added performance tires (Michelin Pilots-staggered 245/255) the Typhoon coldair intake and the JB4. OMG what a difference. My stinger, while looking amazing, felt a little "plain jane" driving it. Adding the tires, intake and tune completely changed the driving experience. I added a sub and amp as well so now I look forward to my daily drive! I am in Atlanta so there is traffic WHERE EVER I go but if given a little space ,like coming home fro a braves game at night, I open it up a little on the hwy.
Thinking about adding the inter cooler system and pedal tuner but I have to chill for a bit because wifey has been getting on me about my spending on the car.
Sounds like we have very similar cars!
Also bought my ‘19 2.0 in March. I am almost entirely stock in terms of appearance. Stock tires, wheels,
badges, etc.. I haven’t even tinted the windows, although I think I will do that eventually. I like the idea of being a true sleeper... the car certainly turns heads on its own, but it doesn’t appear to be a heavily modified car at all.
All my money has gone to performance so far: K&N Typhoon w/
Velossa Tech intake, JB4 w/ bluetooth,
HKS plugs, BMS Pedal Tuner, Maintec FMIC, and Jun BL EVC Catback exhaust.
Hello guys, glad to have found you! For now I am just lurking around, checking out forums and opinions on how to proceed. I have driven a 1995 BMW 525i for the past 2.5 years and while it has been a lot of fun, it has also had its fair share of repairs and expenses associated with it... I am looking to replace it in the not so distant future with something that is equally fun to drive, offers good comfort and better reliability. Stinger 2.0 is probably the leading contender in my book due to the good list of standard features, the 7-year warranty we get in Europe and, of course, the price. I also love the practicality of the hatchback styling. Other contenders are the BMW G20 320i and the base Lexus IS (though both are notably more expensive than the Stinger).
Quality issues are one thing that often comes up in my conversations with other people regarding this car, although most of those people have never even owned a Stinger. I would appreciate any actual 2.0 owners here willing to chime in with their opinion on the build quality of these cars (drivetrain issues, paint quality, sunroof nightmares?).
Sounds like you’ve done your research with mentioning paint quality and the odd sounds/rattles that pop up here and there. I’ve not heard many stories of drivetrain issues though, especially if you’re going to keep that stock.
I think the general consensus from the Stinger community is, for the money, dollar for dollar, you can’t buy a better luxury sports sedan. In the very same breath, I completely agree with, “you get what you pay for”.
If you want something with no issues at all, pay the premium for the more established luxury brands, but even then I find it hard to believe you’d never run into issues. I think the main difference would be the quality of service you’d get from one of those dealerships vs a Kia dealership. But, you’re also paying for that with the cost of service and the sticker price of the car itself. So again, you get what you pay for.
If I had a blossoming money tree out back, I’d probably be driving an M6, but that’s just not reality for my family situation. So for what I paid, I couldn’t be happier with my Stinger.
