• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Yeah i messaged him 1.5k need it gor 2 days

The two days is a necessity.

They wash, dry, wash, clay bar, wash, dry, then do paint correction. Only then do they actually apply the coating. This way, it gets the best surface to adhere to.

I had the interior done too. And he arranged my window tint at the same time.

Let him know you're a referral from the guy with the Black Stinger, via this site. I won't get anything out of it, but it helps them to know where the referrals come from.

I doubt you will find anyone able to do it in a day. My car had to be prepped 4 days ( paint correction ) before they could do the PPF and ceramic coating. It was at the detailers for 9 days.

Did your dash mat have a cut-out for the heads-up display? Mine didn't and so the dash mat is now a fixture of the back seat :-(
Was it dealer supplied? If so, take it back.

Yes, it did have a cut out and fits perfectly .If yours doesn’t take it back to dealership and request a correct one.

I ha e a guy who will do it he uses Gtechniq Crystal syrum

Gtechniq is good stuff - Ray from Haus of Detail was a certified Gtechniq installer before he changed over to pompanazzi I believe.

As I said though, the important part is the prep. Good product over bad prep will leave you with a bad result.

The Kia dash mat has cut outs for the HUD, air vents, and the light sensor for the auto headlights. If you got yours from the dealer I’d be taking it back and asking for a replacement.

Yeah, he will need a while. Funnily, applying the product is the quickest part.

It also takes time to "set", so don't rush him to release the car too soon.

I am in the "Two weeks, no washing, try to keep it dry" stage. It goes back for a final inspection and check at the end of next week, plus top-up with a wax/sealant on top of the pompanazzi for extra "pop" and hydrophobic properties.

Then after that, I can even clay bar and re-seal the car as often as I like during the next 5 years without stressing about the pompanazzi coating.

You’re driving from Wollongong to Newcastle just for paint protection? Hope you don’t get stone chips on the way. I drive the M1 almost every day and have a few. Also where in Newcastle are you going to get it done?

Im driving to Sydney zetland to get the car then going to my partners house in hornsby and then to Newcastle

Make sure you don't let the car sit at the same revs/load as you drive up the M1 - I had to drive to Canberra early with mine, I set cruise control to the speed I wanted, then changed gears with the flappy paddles regularly to let the engine run at different revs. The run up the M1 will give you a good variety of load conditions which is good (and potentially speed if it's wet and you need to keep to 90km/h in the climb towards Gosford after Brooklyn).
