Kill Tally

Seems every "win" is in a modded Stinger.....
Any wins in a stock one? Or is that a stupid question....

That's because we're not delusional enough to think 365HP in a 2-ton vehicle is much of a winner other than against 300HP Camry's and Fusion Sports, lol

So, basically, garbage when stock. Didn't expect that! Fair enough. (also odd that those vehicles you listed, which can near 2 tons, are all a stock Stinger can compete with).

Still an interesting thread, just was unaware that the opinion was quite that low of the stock variety.

I wouldn't say garbage when stock.. I mean, we're dyno-ing at like 450+ lb-ft. Way faster than the normal V6 sedans. We're not going to destroy a 340i, but we'll be competitive. I'm still stock (for now) and still feel super fast compared to most cars I see on the daily drive.

I know you are in america where 250hp is normal for almost every car i guess.
over here there are about 20-30 small and midsize cars that you can get with over 250hp. Most SUV's don't reach 200hp
the 3.3 with 360hp would kill everything over here

The average standard in sweden seems to be 110/150 HP cars (company leases stands for the most new cars in sweden).

"Garbage" is a bit dramatic, but at that HP, you've got cars that are lighter that will win, or cars that are about the same weight with the same power levels (ex/ Challenger). At 365HP, the Stinger isn't necessarily a clear winner, it's just capable of moving its 2 tons effortlessly. It isn't until you're modding that you start entering more competitive classes of cars that the Stinger visually fits into, lol

I'm somewhat aware of what kinds of cars are common "in meiner Heimat", and I agree the 3.3 would be faster than anything except the "big" BMW/Benz/Audi/etc. And while there are some "slow" cars here, you're right - most cars here have more power than the owners ever use. On the other hand, we're really packed in here (~8M in Silicon Valley, what 20M people in Los Angeles?) compared to Germany, where things seem a little more evenly spread out. So on any given day, there are going to be a HUGE number of people on the road, and some of those will also like fast cars, so you have to be ready :-)

I would imagine we're faster than the Challenger / Charger RT and about equal (same class as) the SRT/Scat Pack. I didn't like the constant tire chirping in the Super Bee I test drove and wasn't crazy about the SRT seats. Finding a 2019 Charger Scat pack with adaptive suspension that they were actually willing to sell at a reasonable price was harder than finding a GT1 AWD Stinger in White or Ceramic. There was like ONE in the entire Bay Area (Gilroy) that was less than $50K. And I think it was red - something I definitely did not want. There was a nice green, but it was $54-55K - not paying that for a Charger - we have/had 2 FCA minivans... Plus, I didn't want an involuntary drift machine when it rains..

Considering I was originally going to get a Charger RT Scat Pack (with no options, which is about $40k sticker), stock-for-stock we would outlaunch an RT and probably walk it given how heavy they can be if optioned out, but would get smoked by an RT Scat Pack, lol

The Scat Pack has the 6.4L, so while it's got a lot of weight to move, the larger displacement engine will easily catch and pass a stock Stinger once entering freeway speeds and above. That's the other thing about modded Stingers: the top end power is really locked away from the factory.

You are right about the top end power limited with stock. Test drove 2019 GT2 RWD. Even did a donut. However I could tell it was missing something : intakes, exhaust, meth and a nice tune.

Got my first race today and it was actually a car i once owned lol. A tuned WRX thought he could take me and i left him in the dust.

There's the thing - "freeway speeds and above". My "above" times (let's say > 80, which is the general speed around here in the fast lane) can be counted on one hand. I don't get into the "let's race to 130" thing. Most of the time when I'm on the freeway, it's grid-locked anyway. Most of my "fun" time is in the city, going from 0-40/50. That's where the Stinger shines.

Officer, I don't always race. But when I do, it's in Mexico.

And to be honest, just about every car "shines" at lower speeds: it's how most cars are built from the factory, lol... It's also part of the reason I modded the Stinger. Once on the freeway, it lacked the punch of the car it replaced, and that bothered the hell out of me

Stung a newish 5 series beemer.....So Saturday was going to get some 93 and a lil e85 . I was at the traffic light and a newish BMW was on my bumper just waitin on the green. I was wanting to see if he would "play" with me,so on green I left kinda hard and looked back and he was on it trying to catch up...Well okay ...but we never could get lined up and Saturday in Mexico the traffic is pretty stacked up....oh well I turned off and got me some fuel....now Im going back to the Casa....im at the red light and going to be turning right....and here's the BMW coming the opposite way turning left on the same street...so we "meet" on the same street going the same way no traffic....but he 's already made the turn as im turning and is two cars ahead ,and he's got the lil white 5 series ready to rock ...Oh okay ill try you from 2 cars back....map2.and im catching him and passing him.....he never slowed neither did I.....smoked him! geez I cant believe there wasn't any traffic, and Yall don't wanna know what the speedo said....sheesh...I will not do that any more! I promise :) Wash

Add another 2018 Mustang 5.0 GT, and a new Jaguar XE 35t R-sport to my tally.

While driving in Mexico I got one quick roll from about 20. Stang was about a car length ahead but the Jag kept pace with me so we both punched it. I easily walked away from the Jag and slowly caught and past the 5.0 before we all slowed for the next light. The Stang sounded mean and must have had exhaust, but he wasn’t happy getting gapped and did a ricer fly by when I was tuning off. Got a thumbs up from the Jag at least and best part was I had two passengers and a truck full of groceries.:D

We're not "delusional" enough to believe your inane hyperbole. lol

So, basically, garbage when stock. Didn't expect that! Fair enough ...

Nothing "fair" about it. Uninformed whining is more like it.

... We're not going to destroy a 340i ...

M340i xDrive starts at 56k, Stinger GT AWD at 43k.

The 330 xDrive is our competitor at 43k, but it's 5.2 sec 0-60 and 13.9 sec quarter mile was more in line with my Fusion Sport.

"Garbage" is a bit dramatic ..

It's downright irresponsible. But I'm sure no here is buying it. haha

I would imagine we're faster than the Challenger / Charger RT and about equal (same class as) the SRT/Scat Pack ...

Charger R/T (RWD available only) is at least 1/2 sec slower than a Stinger GT RWD.

SRT/Scat Pack (RWD available only) is a few ticks quicker at a similar price point to the Stinger. But no AWD option means it never even made my list.

Stinger is in a class by itself for the price and available AWD. Anyone who says anything different is either grossly uninformed or just lying.

Another loud, roaring V8 goes down; took out a ~2010 MB C63 last night. When I say loud, I mean at full throttle he completely drowned me out. He was quick but I pulled about a car ahead and stayed there until we let off, at speeds I won't mention.

Sidebar: the whole thing was so surreal for me. I was obsessed with the German V8 super sedans (C63, M3, RS4, ISF) about 10 years ago and couldn't wait to pick one up when the prices dropped. Who would have ever thought that I would own a KIA instead, that with just a few mods could walk away from one. Progress can be amazing....
