Once again the mag racers have to be reminded that anything can happen on the street and that just because something has a V8 doesn't mean it can't be beat. :rolleyes:
 
Great point if the op wasn’t stock. A modified stinger is not the vehicle being compared. I run a JB4 with intakes and borla. Limited to 91 octane in Canada my gt2 might keep with a c7 from a dig....might. Stock stinger is not a competitive c7 race.

Stock C7 is a 12 second car. Stock GT2 is a 13 second car.

Mersy's car is stock. Either the Corvette was broken, the owner blew a shift, or the old man wasn't racing.

$499 will make an AWD Stinger faster than a stock C7 from a dig.

I've never raced an NA C7, but I've been flexed on by a Z06.

I've beat several NA C6's though.

If you're tuned, a C7 stingray or GS can be beaten too. I've raced 3, all autos, and managed to inch away from them. The key is a 2nd or 3rd gear roll race, and you'll do even better if you're able to brake boost.

After some Google I may have had my year wrong or model I'm not a corvette fan I'm sorry lol. It was 2014 maybe I just assumed it was newer cause id never seen one that looked like it.
 
2014-2019 are identical. Only wide(z06,gs) body and base are different.
power for c7 is unchanged for stingray from 14-18. They’d all kick a stock cars ass up and down. C6 was 400/400 from 05-07 (ls2) which I had and ran low 12’s with long tubes and corsa ends. 08-13 had ls3 making an extra 35hp over the ls2 and all c6’s ran mid low 12.

Yep..you're not beating any kind of auto C7 without a tune and at least a few things bolted on. That being said, the C7 Stingrays are coming down to a point where the average nugget that thinks they're the second coming of Paul Walker can grab a M7 Stingray and try it. I could have taken a nap between his shifts, good lord.
 
I'm having fun at 5,000 feet above sea level here in Colorado. Mustang guys here are sparse. The charger/challenger boys sure like to harass me. Anything short of a Hellcat gets beat easily enough up here.

Had some young kid in an STI with too much tape-on bullsh*t harass me for a couple blocks till I blew his doors off. Good times.

So in keeping with my I'll race anything, win or lose, since this is just for fun mantra, I gave in and decided to play with a new GT500 that kept taunting me last night. Obviously wasn't expecting to win, but was extremely surprised when I pulled away from a dig and again from a roll.

I was thinking maybe it's like the hellcat and has a power reducing key, or maybe he was just messing with me. But as he pulled next to me and prepared to make a right turn, I saw why I beat him so easily; it was actually a 2015-2017 5.0, with a gt500 front bumper..lol.

Guess he could afford the bumper but not the Ford Racing 700+hp supercharger. Haha

Yea, they bolt right up, a lot of people have changed theirs. I'm not a big fan myself, prefer the regular GT front end.
 
Im going to put that optima 1.5t badge on my tail and shave off the GT badge. These subaru boys love harassing me then get butthurt when my bone-stock kia blows past them.
Maybe it’ll help me be stealthy? Lol

New S4. Wasn't close. Almost to the point I don't know if they let off as soon as I started pulling. I even waited till they counted off and got their jump.

I won't race on the street anymore, but the Charger and Challenger drivers seem to have the biggest chip on their shoulders. If it's an SRT of any variant, they are nearly guaranteed to start pacing me and try to goat me into a race. Every now and then one of those newer C-class AMGs will try something. Mustangs and Camaros tend to leave me alone.

that's california for you lol. i'm interested to see these challengers (pun intended) when i drive down to socal next month!
 
Well I've learned whose the most butthurt when you blow the doors off them; camaro owners. There's two around where I live, both dressed up all pretty, popping off their fancy exhaust. I've rolled both, the loudest one I could hear the exhaust blaring but the car fell off so quickly. If he could magically convert decibels in to horsepower he may have a faster car.
