I'm starting to feel like the Stinger is just going to end up getting discontinued...

If that happens, "we" can continue to play, "have you seen any Stingers in the Wild?": instead of a steadily increasing version of "how many Stingers did you see today?"I'm starting to feel like the Stinger is just going to end up getting discontinued...
Definitely, I sort of want them to discontinue it now. If they're already talking about it, then in my opinion they were never truely committed to the car in the first place. It will basically guarantee that the car will be become a collectible and increase the scarcity. I usually have a 5 year cycle on cars before I trade them in but what I might do here is keep this car at the end of that cycle as a weekend/toy.If that happens, "we" can continue to play, "have you seen any Stingers in the Wild?": instead of a steadily increasing version of "how many Stingers did you see today?"![]()
I think they take the Stinger seriously, from concept to final production run (whenever that may be). As Gregory Guillaume and Albert Biermann have said, it's a favorite project the whole way. There was an automotive news item recently that interviewed a Stinger designer and he was like, I don't know what the future holds for the Stinger. He wondered if the second generation might be electrified in some way. But the headline was like, "Stinger future in doubt," which is sensationalist and inaccurate.
I mean, Kia has based their entire brand identity on the Stinger. All their smaller cars are being styled in a Stinger-lite fashion. It's hard to imagine them abandoning their halo car. We'll see what the mid-cycle refresh brings.
I think Kia's real "halo car" is the K900. The K900...which Kia USA sells 3 of per decade, at up to 35% discounts, but inexplicably continues to produce.
If we base the Stinger's continuation on Kia's "halo car" I'd say the Stinger should be safe until at least 2075.
I for one won't shed a tear if 2020 is the last year of the Stinger.
There is a tendency to view a company through the prism of your particular domestic market, but Kia is a global car company. They make a full range of vehicles including luxury-like ones, like the K900. They sell more of them in Korea.
2020s have arrived at dealerships in Canada. Is there any confirmed differences? From the dealer-posted pictures, I can't see any. But I don't even know if those are pictures of 2020s or just old stock photos of 2019s.
This one is definitely a 2020:
Are there any differences from the 2019s? I can’t see any.
The car is only in its 4th year. We probably won't see any changes until MY 21 and those will probably be sold first in South Korea and reach the rest of the world the following year.
Not sure, I was gonna stop in but we're supposed to get a week of rain/snow.Are there any differences from the 2019s? I can’t see any.

What's rain? The worst drought in the states history . 98% of NSW affected. My car might have naturally got wet twice while driving in 21 months. We've had one of the wettest summers ever recorded. I think the longest I got out of a car wash was 4 days in the last 4 months lol

How is that different from Smart Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist? I wasn't aware that the Telluride had more advanced driver assist stuff than the latest Stinger. Does it?Highway Driving Assist (HDA) is a new addition for 2020, isn't it? If I'm not mistaken, this is the system in the Telluride that adjusts cruise control to different speed limits , has a more advanced stop-and-go, and goes up to two minutes without driver intervention.
