Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

This isn't for you, yet. It's for guys who have installed the Fuel-IT flex fuel sensor. But in time we'll expand the auto-tuning logic. Since we're so far out ahead of the competition we're slow walking what we post so their customers are forced in to hardware upgrades every time they want to catch up to us. ;)

Good to know thanks. I have another quick question I wanted to ask you. I’ve noticed when I run map 2 or higher if I’m doing a full throttle run and I suddenly come off the gas hard it’s a bit abrupt. I have a hard time explaining it but it’s similar to the feeling of a harder shift in the higher maps when the throttle closes. Is that all it is the throttle shutting more suddenly? I’ve had my jb4 for a year and it’s always done this. It’s does not feel like there’s anything wrong it just is not as smooth as letting off at lower boost settings.

More boost means more air to blow out the diverters when letting off the gas.

Question for you guys, Where do I buy the fuel wires for JB4 kits that didn't come with them ? I see the plug n play harness adapters available on ebay and other places but i don't see the fuel wire kits that run to the JB4.

Do you ever lose boost after letting off the gas abruptly?
More boost means more air to blow out the diverters when letting off the gas.
Could this cause overboost issues or something similar? My friend keeps losing all boost until restart after quickly letting off the throttle with WOT runs on map3.

No that has never happened to me even on map 5.

I've experienced this once. Map 2.

I was having the same issue. I tried venting to atmosphere and it seems better now. Get the 2600 part number expansion plugs from an auto parts store. Seal up the hoses with them. It's easily reversible and it seems to help. Not a lot of difference in sound if you have aftermarket intakes.

So I have been reading through the thread and its great so see alot of progress over time on this platform for sure.

Is the JB4 fairly plug and play at this point, meaning I get it and install it, connect fuel wires/OBDII reader etc and put it in map 2 (in my 93 octane area) and I am good to go?

I see ALOT of posts talking about logs and settings etc and it seems a bit overwhelming as someone coming into tuning from a previously super simple ECU swap pretune setup.

I also assume I have to change over hte firmware and such, is there a complete start to finish setup video available? I have seen quite a few different videos but seems like the information is in a bunch of different places.

It seems a bit overwhelming but honestly, it's not bad. There are a few videos of each step available but the installation is easy. You'll want to install Bluetooth in the house. Then you'll install everything into the car. Once it's all hooked up, turn accessories on, upload the latest firmware, then you're good. Of course, purchase and download the JB4 app before you do firmware, etc.
Once connected, it should automatically log when you're on it. Upload some logs to N54tech and see if you need to tweak anything.
If you get stuck, plenty of people are here to help.

I was in your situation... the unknown... was overthinking how am I going to plug this, run the wires, do the BT app ... whats going on here?!?!?

But no.
Everything was very straight forward once I had the device and handled it, moreover the community here is great + Terry is amazing !

First, the JB4, super super super easy to connect. I had my fuel wires PnP therefore it made it easier but the dpositap are not hard to add on.
The BT was straight forward as well, easy pdf to follow.
Running the obd2 cable through the firewall was actually very doable and not hard at all.
Pushed the grommet out a bit, took a metallic hanger, tape the cable to it.
Pushed the hanger through the top of the grommet.
Open the hood, took the 3 tabs off the cover on the driver side. Saw my hanger. Grabbed it to pull the cable.
Pull the hanger out.
Grabbed the grommet from the inside and pull it back - sealed, easy peasy !

Then you run the wires as you see fit.

Connect your phone to BT,JB4 connect, choose map 1 or 2 depending what you are starting with.

I had one small issue as I felt it was not pulling as fast as I thought.
Emailed Terry, he asked me to send logs and told me how to log.
Went on the highway, did two pulls, sent the email back, 15 mins later he told me to change one thing on the app and voila - all done. (thank you Terry !!!)

Honestly it is hard to wrap your head around what to do when you not in front of this but it is VERY straight forward and I must say that @Terry@BMS was extremely fast to reply ! On Labour day nonetheless !!

PS: once on Sport mode and you try it ... you will know it is on, WOW :devil::devil:

I'm finally going to pull the trigger on a jb4. I recall discussion about a pnp fuel wire option awhile back but don't see it listed. Is this in the works or perhaps available by special request?

Check out ecko04. I think he still has a spot or two for his September batch. Terry's plugs are waiting for the order to come in..

So I’ve searched and I’m sure I’m over looking it. Trading in the Stinger and removed the JB4, is there anything I need to unpair officially so it can be sold?

The next person will need to contact bms to get the Bluetooth paired( you can unpaid in the app yourself). But uninstall by map 0 and unplugging everything and ship it away.

No. The hardware isn't locked to particular car, so can be resold without a problem. The bluetooth software is registered to the original purchaser - you can uninstall it if you want, but it's not going to cause any problems for you or a subsequent owner of the JB4.

The new purchaser of the JB4 will have to buy the JB4 phone app again (either Android or iOS) if they are going to use the bluetooth connection, but once installed they will just pair the app to the hardware.
