Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

No. The hardware isn't locked to particular car, so can be resold without a problem. The bluetooth software is registered to the original purchaser - you can uninstall it if you want, but it's not going to cause any problems for you or a subsequent owner of the JB4.

The new purchaser of the JB4 will have to buy the JB4 phone app again (either Android or iOS) if they are going to use the bluetooth connection, but once installed they will just pair the app to the hardware.
I may be interested how much for the JB4?

So I’ve searched and I’m sure I’m over looking it. Trading in the Stinger and removed the JB4, is there anything I need to unpair officially so it can be sold?
Better question: why would you trade in the Stinger?! o_O :)

I did forget to return to map 0.... didn’t even cross my mind ... poop.

I believe they originally ship with map 1 enabled as the default, but either way it's not a big deal.

Anybody installing one (new or used) should be reviewing the settings before they take the car out for a drive anyway.

Sorry Rob, this wasn’t about selling the items, just mentioning them due to being asked... that’s why I put “DM me”.

Hi Terry

Did you change something in the last firmware regarding CEL codes?
I used to have a P0400 with my downpipes but now I got a P2098. It may be related to my recent upgrade of intake filters, but its been a long time since I didn't have a code so I wondered if anything changed on JB4 side.

You can search codes on google for descriptions and general ideas of what might be causing them. O2 sensor issue, exhaust leak, E85 mixtures, etc. Not a major code but also not a normal downpipe code.

What would be a normal downpipe code?

I think I was running lean because I changed the intake filter to a bigger one. Need time for the ECU to adapt.

If you are interested in selling your BMS Jb4 I’ll be willing to purchase it.

I will gladly purchase your JB4 if that’s still up for sale.

I was in your situation... the unknown... was overthinking how am I going to plug this, run the wires, do the BT app ... whats going on here?!?!?

But no.
Everything was very straight forward once I had the device and handled it, moreover the community here is great + Terry is amazing !

First, the JB4, super super super easy to connect. I had my fuel wires PnP therefore it made it easier but the dpositap are not hard to add on.
The BT was straight forward as well, easy pdf to follow.
Running the obd2 cable through the firewall was actually very doable and not hard at all.
Pushed the grommet out a bit, took a metallic hanger, tape the cable to it.
Pushed the hanger through the top of the grommet.
Open the hood, took the 3 tabs off the cover on the driver side. Saw my hanger. Grabbed it to pull the cable.
Pull the hanger out.
Grabbed the grommet from the inside and pull it back - sealed, easy peasy !

Then you run the wires as you see fit.

Connect your phone to BT,JB4 connect, choose map 1 or 2 depending what you are starting with.

I had one small issue as I felt it was not pulling as fast as I thought.
Emailed Terry, he asked me to send logs and told me how to log.
Went on the highway, did two pulls, sent the email back, 15 mins later he told me to change one thing on the app and voila - all done. (thank you Terry !!!)

Honestly it is hard to wrap your head around what to do when you not in front of this but it is VERY straight forward and I must say that @Terry@BMS was extremely fast to reply ! On Labour day nonetheless !!

PS: once on Sport mode and you try it ... you will know it is on, WOW :devil::devil:

What about eco/comfort modes ? Are they affected by the JB4 (map 1 or 2) or are they running as stock maps ?
Thanks for your thorough post. Did you change your spark plugs and regap ?

Cheers bro !!

I run Eco every morning on my way to work as it is constant stop and go ... annoying but yes I can tell you that you do feel the 1-2 extra psi.
The REAL change was when I was in sports and did WOT before entering on the highway.... the G pulls were felt for sure !!
I changed my sparks to the denso, gap @22 and I regapped the stock ones, stored them, just in case I needed them for later with the JB4

@Terry@BMS Can you look at my logs and see if everything is good? I only went from a rolling start to like 65 MPH. Running on 91 Octane. All stock other than Denso spark plugs.
