Thanks for the information. Any idea what companies are charging for aftermarket film and who you would recommend?
You’re lucky, all my stone chips are on the bonnet, don’t think I’ve had any down low only bugs. I’ve even got a chip in the black plastic of the fake bonnet vents. Would you believe they’re white underneath. You’d think it’d be black plastic like everything else.Mine was already applied and added to base cost as car was on showroom floor. It was the standard KIA kit but I think you could get better coverage from after market. To me, one if the most vulnerable areas is lower/outer bumper but the standard kit doesn't cover this. If i had my choice I would do entire bumper, mirrors, and door cups. Others say the entire bonnet is a must but so far, in 15 months, I haven't experienced an issue as aerodynamics seem to repel really good. Can't recall even any bugs on bonnet.
Stone chips on the bonnet and front chrome work on mine. You’re lucky, all my stone chips are on the bonnet, don’t think I’ve had any down low only bugs. I went to Fine Shine, they did paint correction and some of the ceramic coating. Jimmy then took Sonic to Anthony at Bon Vivant Automotive Care for the PPF and he also does ceramic coating. I paid just over $3,000 for PPF and ceramic .
No idea could be either. I’ve never seen it up closeIs that a black car with white wrap, or a white car with black wrap?![]()
I think you are dcb biased lolI believe the base colour is Deep Chroma Blue with the addition of white wrap.
If you are in Melbourne, give me a call and I can advise you on all of the film options available. Thanks for the information. Any idea what companies are charging for aftermarket film and who you would recommend?
They pretty much all do it now for privacy reasons for their staff, GWK even has a notice stating that at the Service Desk. You should ask why they switched dash cam off....would be an interesting response!
Any place that does wrap or signage should be ok. Allow no more than 45min to an hour for it.Looking at getting a little bit of custom paint behind vents across bottom of doors. Can anyone recommend a place in Adelaide..pref southern suburbs.
I saw similar done in Black across bottom of door
The standard PPF pack was already fitted to mine but it would be better if it was extended to the lower and outside bumper areas. I notice a slight discolouring on the bonnet edge but as the car is white perhaps that's not unusual. If I were to have it applied from scratch I'd do all bumper, perhaps full bonnet ( although in 15,000k no chips), door cups, and rear bumper sill. Some owners get guards done, mirrors, A & B pillars so its really a matter of choice and driving conditions.Hi Team Stinger,
Those that have had the PPF fitted, where on the car did you have the film applied? The genuine $400 package is 3M Cleargard fitted to the door cups, the strip across the nose of the bonnet, the front on the bumper and the sill on the rear bumper. Is there an issue with dirt building up at the edge of the film where you can feel the film finish and step down to the paint? Did anyone get their full bonnet covered in the film?
Sorry for all the questions as I just want to make sure if or before I invest. My Stinger has landed and am just waiting to sell my Sportage before I have it registered and take delivery.
Enjoy.![]()
