Kia Stinger GTS

If you're coming from a Chevy SS then a Stinger isn't going to be the same kind of ride, it isn't intended to be. Fortunately it wouldn't take very expensive mods like Eibach springs and sway bar, plus the LAP3 chip, to get it as fast as you'd like. And since you can find GT2's with $10k off sticker already, that's a very easy goal to achieve. Like you said, it's not like they're making SS's anymore. The only thing you can't really put in the Stinger to match is a manual transmission.
The Stinger is faster than an SS stock

Wow, no mention of a suspension upgrade in any of the articles I read. Nor do I see much mention of it in this thread. I test drove a GT2 earlier this year and while I like the over-all design and the creature comforts, the suspension was less than stellar. In fact, for a lack of a better term, I'd say it was clumsy. Note: I drive a Chevy SS and was curious to see if the Stinger would be a good replacement, for the SS is no longer in production and obtaining parts will be problematic in the near future. I was hoping that the GT would perform close to the level of the SS, but sadly, it does not. Now I see that a GTS model is coming out, but will Kia be addressing the bouncy feel of the suspension? I walked away from my test drive disappointed and underwhelmed. When I test drove the SS, it touched my soul...I bought it...right then and there. The driving experience is such that I can't wait to drive the car...almost five years later. I was hoping the same could be said for the Stinger. It's got allot going for it, except the very thing that makes the SS such a great car...the way it handles its 4000lb curb weight. I know the Stinger isn't a super sport sedan, but when you put it into "sport" mode, it should be "sporty". Otherwise, what's the point? If Kia were to make the, IMHO, necessary adjustments to the suspension, I'd definitely consider it as a replacement (which is what Kia was trying to do with the Stinger, as evidenced through its marketing campaign).
Ha,ha, yes the good ol' Chevy Ss product of Oz probably why the tuned suspension is well recievieved by you. Unfortunately no more Holden factory anymore. @DCBStingerGT used to assemble Commodores (SS).

That's an interesting video, thanks. The 2017 model SS has been tested with a 4.5sec 0-60, so I just assumed between that and all the extra horsepower it was a hair faster. Well, that and the fact that the Stinger GT barely beat an old Chevy Cobalt around VIR in Car & Driver's Lightning Lap, but they had a bunch of brake problems so I prefer to ignore those results.

I found that test to be a little poorly managed. It seemed like they had a Stinger that was put away wet multiple times. I've tracked my Stinger a few times, I didn't have any issues with the brakes. They certainly had a little fade, but that was after repetitive laps and near ABS engagement every turn. One lap, wouldn't create that many issues C&D had.

Something was up, I'm betting somebody doesn't like the KIA badge

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Got the June 17th issue of AutoWeek in the mail today. The inside back cover had a full-page spread on the GTS.

Why why why no exhaust and intakes...boat missed.

Cheaper to wrap your current car than to take the hit on trade in value.

Americans are so frightened of trade-in value on exciting colored cars or possibly getting a speeding ticket, as if driving a silver car at 100mph should exempt us. Something like 74% of new cars in America sold in 2017 were grey, white, black or silver. We all have access to the internet now. Guaranteed there is someone out there who will want your car in whatever color you get it at the same or higher price as a bland color. All it takes is finding that person. Subaru offers that one CUV in orange the past couple years and now I see them all the time. Tons of people like color if you give them the chance. Just get what you like and be happy.

Lol. That's quite the misplaced rant.

The point of my post was that it's cheaper to spend $4k on an orange wrap than to trade his car in and eat the $10-20k difference in value between his trade and the GTS's sale price.

GTS will have a MSRP in the $53k range, I'm assuming? And an early example will have little to no negotiating room.

A 2018 GT2 with $10k miles has a trade in value of $36k (according to KBB). Probably around $40k for a 2019 (no information available on them yet).

That's a $17k difference! That's a lot of mod money.

Given the lease structure, my mileage and payoff I stand to make 3-5K off my car. Vroom, and Carvana have 7 day offers.

The GTS is less expensive than the GT2. Offers “drift” mode and a slew of other cool shit.

I can assume the lease structure is different, or they do not offer lease support on the model code. There is no data yet, from KMF.

What year is your car? How much is the GTS?

Edit: Never mind. $46-48k MSRP. Good luck. Take pics when you go for the test drive.

I had a orange 2005 GTO that I loved back in the day. Only had it for 6 months before trading it in for a SUV because:kids.

Where did you get an ETA from? Any more concrete info? Or about 2020 models in general?

I've "done things" in my SWP that I am certain would have attracted attention from LEO if I was in the micro blue I had originally wanted. Not talking about simply speeding. I also could be wrong.

That said, the orange is gorgeous. I'd love that too. I just need to grow up first (mid-50's and climbing..)
