Yes, but for 90% of us they do not. They re-sort into alphabetical order. There may be some magic combination of music file format, USB file format, size of USB stick, etc., that works. But unlike a MP3 player, which is what the car should be replicating, many, many combinations do not work. Only the "Files" options plays properly, and now people are reporting it has been removed as of v.13. So a great reason not to update to v.13 and to remind KIA USB music already didn't work properly (for the majority) in the first place.

Every kia nav update by the way is still crap regardless. The system is very poor. My hyundai i30sr has a better system with less updates and is far more simple to use and accurate.

I dont have an issue at present everything works as it should. My suggestion to members is get a copy of the previous update and down grade back to it if that helps until the issue is sorted out.

Yes it does. And I tried different two thumb drives, two different formats on the drive and two different ripping softwares. Then gave up. It's KIA's job to make a program that reads any and all common formats, not ours to piss away time trying to figure out the magic key to get it to work.

I recall that you said before, that accessing the "List" of albums/folders is from the alphabetized order. But I thought that your beef was with the other accessing options; not that you can't play the tracks in album order no matter what you do!

I can bring up alphabetized tracks other ways. But I only open USB music by clicking on the album/folder I want, then on the track (usually the first track) and just let it cycle through. Often I'll just let the next album/folder in alphabetical order play through and then on to the next one, and so forth. Each list of tracks within each album is correctly ordered (not rearranged in alphabetical order).

So, what is going on here? Is the Canadian software (where UVO works, btw) somehow different from the US? Are all of you Canadian owners alike cursed with alphabetized tracks no matter what you do?

It has nothing to do with Canada. For the fourth or fifth time, songs only play in Album order via "Files." They play in alphabetical order using "Album." Play, not sort or search or browse. Play.

Try it yourself instead of repeating for the fourth or fifth time that you only use "Files" and songs play in proper order. They do for everyone...unless that option has been removed from v.13, which is what this conversation of the past week or so was supposed to be about.

If you haven't ripped (and stored) albums as albums, then this does not apply to you.

I do know using usb3.0 is not good as the usb heats up and causes a volume channel to drop out.

Have not heard that one before! The USB heating up is more likely due to the same problem that causes the wireless charger to overheat. Or a defective USB key. USB 3.0 is not so fast that it would physically heat anything up from the data transfer.

A USB thumb drive itself is not even capable of getting hot, unless there is something seriously wrong with it or the programming.

As stated, a hot USB drive was caused by radiant heat from elsewhere.

No it was mentioned beforehand and happened to me. Nothing to do with wireless charging. The usb3.0 fit process data quicker and it heats up causing channel issues. I lost the left channel completely. Fault finding i discovered it was usb3.0 as usb 2.0 has no issues.

I think you are confused. First, what is fitbit? The fitness devices? We are talking about standard USB memory sticks.

The files on a USB drive, whether they be crap-quality MP3s or lossless FLACs, don't have channels. They are a digital representation of an analogue recording that must be processed by a DAC (digital-to-analogue converter) that is part of the infotainment system, or in olden-day terms, the car stereo. If a USB stick were to overheat to the point that it could not transfer information (highly unlikely), the entire music "recording" would be interrupted, not just one channel. Digital is either there or not there--it doesn't distinguish audio channels if interrupted.
