3.3TT Kia Stinger 3.3TT SSR Downpipes +30WHP / +26WTQ NO TUNE!!!!! Dyno Runs and Testing

I will got the jun BL DP ( mid pipes) put on tomorrow, so it should lighten up the car a little bit and I am expecting no more HP gains just lighter :) as it removes only the secondary cats , thanks goodness !
LoL, if you removing the FACTORY mid-pipe you will see gains in HP ~25, and US Factory muffler are not that bad... but can get another ~10 there, I like Go over noise. ;)

Let there be sound

I am happy with its roar when released but careful in town just let it purr lol To say that I am pleased with the sound would be a understatement :)

I do get a bit of drone if I lug it in one of the upper gears on big hills but when you put the peddle to the metal in sport mode it sounds wicket awesome , the Borla notes are well worth it given the car a more exotic sound,in my honest opinion:) warning if you desire a quiet exhaust keep it stock ,, just saying:)

Exhaust now fully done :)
Arnie, question for you.. when your look from the side of the car are the tubes flush with the bottom of the car or do they extend down some. Hard to see from the angle of pictures. (Looking good BTW) :)

BTW I'm working on a PCV / CCV commercial oil/air scrubber for the Stinger, non of the current oil catch cans out there are doing the job completely (+90% removal of oil mist). I'll be posting my results shortly in a new tread. :)

BTW for all those who are new to the RWD / AWD difference to the down pipe, these two pics should help. BTW JUN B.L. are 60.5mm (2.38") pipe and SSR are 63.5mm (2.5") (12% more area) so gives a larger collector effect off of primary CDP, but both are SS 304. composit of both pics.webp
Overlap of both photo's below, (same shape but different mounts).
JUN BL both RWD AWD.webp

HI my pipes only go into stock tips changing nothing looks on the side of the car :)

The pipes do hang down some under the car. Previously I had a catback with rear chassis brace and it barley fit. Had to adjust things to get the brace to fit with the larger diameter exhaust. After adding SSR the exhaust hung even lower and there was no way to fix that so the brace came off. But its not something you would see or notice but it does hang just a bit lower.

No. I had a family emergency and had to cancel the appointment. Traveling a lot through Easter. Hopefully before the end of the month. It's starting to get hot here....
My new mid pipes (junBLdps ), now run together with my Borla Cat exhaust , are of course louder, but ground clearance seems to be ok with speed bump s , my Stinger is lower are well 1.5 inches as well !

s-l500.webp BTW I would suggest replacing the four layer steel exhaust pipe gasket when putting in your new pipes, not best practice to re-use them IMHO... Only about $10 each x4. Part # 287513S100 (Part number good for both Kia and Hyundai)

With just the midpipes replaced and stock pipes, does it increase exhaust sound in cabin. I want to hear the exhaust in the car louder than the fake pumped in sound but not obnoxious loud Would these do it? I am interested in junbl gt or borla but think they may be too loud and dont want evc anymore.thanks

Typically you'll only get more turbo noise, since you've relieved a lot of the exhaust side back pressure.

With adding both the mid pipe , and adding a Borla cat back exhaust, I have found that by having both together does make it louder for sure as well as losing a bit weight from the lose of the 2 cats off the mid pipes. I feel with the Borla Cat back on
, I need to be careful , as not to draw in un wanted attention from the law enforcement folk s ! Now once again just my own opinion ,I find since I have added the exhaust mods, that I seem to want to always drive the car more just to listen at the different exhaust notes and with different gears and fuel loads :)
The sounds are very entertaining lol , but now on the down shifting as for me is the best as I hear popping sound s throughout the RPM range as I slowdown to 3 Rd , and 2nd and 1 st if there is still enough time, but the different sounds from the Borla are indeed extremely cool ! Just a heads up IMHO , just listening to the sound clips, can indicate the basic sound but when driving under load , only then can you truly appreciate or dislike that type of exhaust sound and performance. Just food for thought:)?

Don't @ me lol, the stock catback and mid pipe combo will yield almost no audible exhaust note difference.

As for drawing attention from us, your exhaust isn't really what draws ire. If all we did was listen for exhaust the only tickets ever written would be on Hondas.

Just a bit but less so than any exhaust mod. Thermal and Magnaflow seem to be the most mild. I bought the ark early on but now would go magnaflow.
