• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

Forum administrators if you are reading I think we need a Stingers Downunder area set up as this forum is getting huge and needs diversification. Your thoughts?

By the way I put a request to administrator to start a downunder section in main forums. It’s still early am in USA so may a get a reply later. Will let you know.

This australia pre release thread has had over 55000 views! Strongest thread yet I think!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I am curious to know, especially from the Australian owners who have already taken delivery of their Stingers, did the dealership give you a full tank of petrol , or just a quarter full ? Also, did anyone actually ask for a full tank , if so, did the dealer give it to you ?
I am sure that after buying any car, especially when buying a Stinger at this price, a full tank of petrol should be part of the Dealership experience, but we all know they save wherever they can. I will ask for a full tank, but if they will not, at least i asked, and it's not the end of the world.
Please share your experience or opinion from wherever you live, interested to hear.
I got a full tank of petrol but then again as i have whined before i did pay above retail.
A question i do have and im sure someone will know. What grade of fuel is the car tuned to?. The manual to my reckoning doesn't state Australian ron rating recommendation. Im sure its 91 but the dealer couldnt be sure. They guessed 95. Im buggered if im put 95 in if it doesnt require it.

91 but put 95 in it as it is cleaner on the engine and you will get more power and an extra 50kms from a tank. It’s only about $7 a tank difference.
American fuel ratings are different their 95 is a 91.

Just had a look at the Stinger brochure i have on the 3.3ltr V6 TT, its shows under the title of FUEL, REGULAR UNLEADED, like AV8R said.

I've been sprinkling this idea throughout this discussion, several times, and I don't think I ever received a response. I'm all for this idea. There should definitely be some sort of club area for you guys.

But how should we do it? One concern I have is that important information that could/should(?) be in the "main" Stinger area might not be be posted there. Should the area be mainly for clubs/events/meets? More or less having Australia-Specific conversations in there? The Bi-Modal Exhaust discussion would be a good example. However, a post like "How do I change my audio settings?" would be a better fit for the main area - even if started by someone in Australia.

I'd just like to button down a few things before we make the move. So let's please have a little discussion on this before we FINALLY separate the Australian talk into more than one thread. :p

Maybe have an Australian forum wirh sub threads leading off that?

Yes, that's what I'm thinking. What we have here is a "thread" (as in discussion thread) - and each forum hosts many different threads (or discussions). What we're planning here is having an Australia-specific forum to host threads about things that most-specifically effect Australian Stingers. So I'm thinking that conversations that can affect ANY Stinger would remain in the main Stinger areas - but those that are specific to Australian Stingers would be discussed in the Australia-specific forum. :)

Yep that’s how I see it a Stinger Downunder section then we can add our threads. They do it on Pprune which is for pilots.

Very easy, just do it! Call it Stingers Downunder and we can add our threads. I could moderate it but the wife would kill me with all the email notifications going off!
That way we go the forum home page and click on Stingers Downunder. They do it for pilots on pprune and it works well. You could subdivide it into exterior interior etc but I think you would be doubling up.
The other idea I had was to put a defined search bar at the top of the page instead of in the menu section. It’s more user friendly.
Either way you are doing a great job and we are all very greatful for the forum :)

Thank you very much. I'll get a section going and link to it in a few minutes. We can build on it from there. I just want to avoid all the regular important NON-Australia "specific" discussions going in there. In other words, I don't want to take valuable information OUT of the main Stinger forum if it pertains to ALL Stingers. If something is specific to Australia - then it fits in the Stingers Down Under section. Does that make sense?
