• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

Couldn’t agree more with your comment, I only did that last Monday, noticed a blemish on my front guard that you could only see under artificial light at a certain angle, it wouldn’t wipe off with micro fibre cloth or a chamois, they rectified no charge.
Very happy with the overall finish & gloss especially after a wash & it also seems to stay cleaner longer.
Have a look at the pics I posted Monday in the “what did you do with your Stinger today” thread. I think the sparkle after a wash came up nicely and that’s just using the Protektiv brand shampoo and a Bowdens Own Big Green Sucker microfiber cloth to dry it, nothing else.

Looks beautiful mate.

Shoulder woke me up, haven't taken any endone since operation.
Insured price doesn't matter for first 2 years as if it gets written off they replace the car brand new as is with all mods. :)

That pain doesn't sound good, pain relief sounds like a must. Im sure you won't feel any pain whilst piloting the Stinger though.

Oh I see, I'm not tired either.
Haven't heard anything from the dealership but I'm organising all my lease paperwork.
Guess it's still on the boat?.hahahah
I reckon I could have it next weekend. (Fingers crossed.)

Price is good but if you change to market value it may get better. After the replacement vehicle period runs out you should insure for agreed value.
$2k excess is probably helping to keep down.
Which company?

NRMA at market value it goes to $850 so I've got It set on best. Only concern is if in the 2 year period they claim to not find a ceramic grey GT. Haha Should be ok though...then swap to agreed value

I’d be careful they don’t try to screw you when you try to increase the value of the car $15,000-$20,000 in 2 years time. If they’re worth about $65,000 now they’d be about $55,000-$58,000 in 2 years depending on kms and condition.

They will question why it was worth $38,990 brand new and increased in value 2 years later. Yes they replace new for old for the first 2 years but that’s if they decide to write it off, if they decide to repair you could have issues. From other posts it seems even basic repairs on the Stinger are expensive.

If it looks too good to be true, it usually is

If I have issues increasing value I'll just insure with a different provider.

Agreed value is such, I'm paying for the new car policy and I'm chatting to NRMA at the moment. They are telling me that's fine for 2 years but after 2 years I will want to change it to market or max agreed.

I'd they try to repair and it's more than my agreed and deemed a write off they will just give me a brand new one in first 2 years. Only way that won't work is if Kia stop making them.

Fair enough but be careful. If they were happy with this everyone would be lowballing their insurance for the first couple of years. I can’t see them letting that happen because they lose money due to the lower premiums being paid. There has to be a catch somewhere. Comes down to the old Caveat Emptor (buyer beware)

Just got a call from the dealership, looks like it's being slightly delayed in holdup. Still thinks end of month but could be start of next.
It's got a build date of January or February 2019 it looks like.

Shame about the delay but good that it’s a 2019 build date

Does anyone on here have a copy of the service bulletin relating to the diff oil replacement, or have they had it done and was there any issues?

I’m booked in for 10k service next Friday. I told them today when I booked it that I wanted it done and was aware of the service bulletin. The girl I spoke to didn’t really say anything other than she’d make a note of it on the booking. I had spoken to someone else at the dealership before when the tow bar recall was issued and was told they’d only do it if there was an issue. I’m just curious if anyone got their hands on a copy of it to see what it said.

I thought it had been posted by an Aussie owner somewhere else on the forum but I couldn’t find it.

I did a google search after posting the above and found it, downloaded a copy of the TSB to show them when they claim ignorance next week lol. It was on the forum but for some reason my forum search didn’t find it. Good old google to the rescue again

So I just got a call from NRMA with regards to new car replacement insurance and he recommended putting agreed value as lowest because they will honour a new car within first 2 years of first rego date of the car if you are the first owner. If they can't get me a 2021 model stinger if I write it off in 2 years then they will look at demos going down a year until they can find one. Sounds pretty good to me.
