Kia Stinger Buyers In The U.S. Got These Cool Headphones

There’s at least two standards for which notches get which signal. One example of a nonstandard setup is the one used by iOS. I’m pretty sure this is the reason that some adapters work while others do not. Different manufacturers go with whichever standard they see fit. My feelings are that holding in the remote button, which answers the phone btw, allows the audio through on a different notch and “fixes” the issue temporarily. It’s not that the Best Buy one is not as good. It’s more likely that the wire out is setup different than the headphones or the stereo are compatible with.

I think the "Buy More" jack and the G.E. jack (the black and white ones in my pics in previous posts) are identical. So I returned a jack that didn't need returning. The trick of pulling the HK audio jack out until the sound kicks in works with both, and the brass one (not from Radio Shack). So only one out of four 1/4" jacks is wired to harmonize with the HK. :P But as I said, it is moot, since I am using a 6' extender cable anyway and the sound comes through 1/4" jack, 6' cable and HK audio cable just dandy.

If talked that much about headphones to my wife she would divorce me! Lol

Alternatively, she could just put on a pair of noise cancelling headphones!

My god 454 posts and 23 pages later and we are still talking about headphones. They should have shipped all the cars with a set in the glove compartment then it would have been a standard feature.
I was rather disappointed with the headphones. I have plenty of headphones. The fact that Kia spent money to design these, and ship them out makes me wish they'd just sent out a check instead. Of course the cost to manufacture is probably around $10. Its funny how cheap it is to make expensive products...

Kia didn't design them, they're just HK/JBL Duet models. I assume since they bought in bulk they got them inexpensively and it's a nice throw-in. I used to use ear buds for plane trips but having the noise canceling definitely came in handy sitting near the engines on my snowboard trip last week. Sorry they didn't come in handy for you.
