3.3TT BMS Stinger Intake System

View attachment 19140 View attachment 19139 I installed my bms yesterday was a bit of a beotch because of my half broken ratchet and the fact that I did not have a extension but over all easy install. The intake was supposed to come with 2 bolts and washers but mine was missing one of the bolts and instead came with 2 washers one bolt and one nut. So when I saw that I assumed I was missing one bolt and one nut so I went out and picked up two bolts and nuts closet to the same size. Then when I got home I realized there is no use for the nut and those bolts screw right into the intake. The bolts I got are not the same thread so I had to go back out and get the proper nuts... needless to say I’m quite annoyed at this point. Anyways after I had the bolts the install took maybe a just over a hour but took longer because of my crap tools. Can hear turbo and bov now but only when I’m on the gas hard so I don’t think it will get annoying. Once my full tank of gas goes down and weather gets better I’ll go out and try and beat my 114mph 1/4 time. If I don’t see the performance increase I want I may go back to stock intakes but it’s to early to tell how much I like the sound of them.
Glad you got them on, really interesting filter orientation. Typically if I'm trying to match up bolts/nut I'll bring the ones I have and test thread whatever I buy at the store to make sure it's exactly the same.

Honestly I'm not even sure you'll be able to catch the BOV sound on video.
wow it's that quiet? The K&N is LOUD lol you can hear the BOV even with music playing at a 10.

I’m sure I could catch the bov on video it’s not that quiet. I did bring the bolts with me problem was I thought I needed a bolt and nut and the place I went through did not have the right nut. I should have looked at the intakes better before I left but I never thought they would pack a nut if it was not needed. I guess they mistook the nut they sent me as a second bolt.

Is there anyway to remove the snap clips that just flop around off the side of the lower part of the oem airboxs. I think that makes this option a little cheap looking but if they can be easily unhinged and reinstalled later that would be fine.engine.webp

Yes they pop out. I took all mine off. You have to push pretty hard to get them to pop off.

Right, it's in the instructions as well to remove them (probably just in case they fall off otherwise). You have to move the clip back to the regular 'closed' position and push down (towards the ground) for it to pop out.

Hey @Adamdan

Are you happy with the BMS intake?
Yeah for the most part. There not to loud. From my testing so far they are not much of a improvment in the 1/4 mile or 0-60 vs my k&n panel filters. I’m not saying there is no gains as I ran my fastest 1/4 mile and highest mph with them but times and mph are still very close. Will be testing more this weekend.

Give it time. My times have been steady dropping wiht no changes.

Put in my order for this intake a hour ago through bms store. Got a email from fedex that it will be here tomorrow. Talk about fast shipping I’m in Canada.
I JUST ORDERED the BMS intakes as well 2 days ago ,and I cant wait to get in installed :) Glad to hear that others are happy with it as well :)

Your right I went out today and beat my 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile today and gained 1.5mph or so on my trap speed. This was with over a half tank of gas.

I can't find a single sound clip of this intake on an otherwise stock stinger. I find it so odd BMS only released a sound clip on a car that also has blow off valves installed. Anyone know of any other videos out there?

They all (aftermarket intakes) sound the same.
