Right, the OEM inlet isn't a flow restriction.

Keeping the bottom portion of the OEM intake makes it "cold air" intake as a lot of air is directed to filter from front of the car. When car is moving a lot of colder air is coming through the OEM scoops.

Without a seal to the oem piping their won't be much cold air flow with out adding some scoops. The oem snorkle pulls down and around so not much if any positive flow with speed. JT who includes scoops with thier intake highly recommends installing them as they did see gains with the scoops.
Minimalist design like tork makes sense. I like the simple design like this or if $ is no concern go all out with JTs.

Had two questions ... first being I made a DIY intake and used the hard plastic elbow to connect to the filter. Do you see this as being an issue at all with it being plastic?
Second question, could you please please offer just the shields for sale?

I received my BMS intake, engine braces, and oil cap last night. Install took about an hour. Remove the top half of the intake box and filter. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the lower box. Place the heat shield in place and put the bolts back in. Very simple, very smart design.

Thinking about doing the BMS intake setup over the AP. The only thing that I would like to change is the filters. I know others expressed interest in a dry filter. Curious if you have made any headway on that front ? If not, what is the size of the K&N filters ? I think I might be able to source some out myself from AFE.

I’ve been looking into the bms intakes and while looking over the dyno graphs of the stock car vs the shop car with the intake. On map 5 the stock car made almost 395 and the shop car with intake made 441whp is this correct?

FYI all the intakes make similar HP perhaps with the exception of JT and SSR probably make the most power....No way an intake is giving you 46 WHP LOL....Any intake you buy will net you similar horse power gains.....

Yeah that’s the vs on map 2. This pic shows map 5 on stock car and on shop car with intake.

Edit terry said the difference in power could be down to different gas as well as different firmwares on the jb4.

I have it and love it. Smart design, simple install, great sound and performance, plus it looks good.

Put in my order for this intake a hour ago through bms store. Got a email from fedex that it will be here tomorrow. Talk about fast shipping I’m in Canada.

I installed my bms yesterday was a bit of a beotch because of my half broken ratchet and the fact that I did not have a extension but over all easy install. The intake was supposed to come with 2 bolts and washers but mine was missing one of the bolts and instead came with 2 washers one bolt and one nut. So when I saw that I assumed I was missing one bolt and one nut so I went out and picked up two bolts and nuts closet to the same size. Then when I got home I realized there is no use for the nut and those bolts screw right into the intake. The bolts I got are not the same thread so I had to go back out and get the proper nuts... needless to say I’m quite annoyed at this point. Anyways after I had the bolts the install took maybe a just over a hour but took longer because of my crap tools. Can hear turbo and bov now but only when I’m on the gas hard so I don’t think it will get annoying. Once my full tank of gas goes down and weather gets better I’ll go out and try and beat my 114mph 1/4 time. If I don’t see the performance increase I want I may go back to stock intakes but it’s to early to tell how much I like the sound of them.

I currently have the K&N drop ins and I was looking to get a little more hp out of the Stinger however the extra noise it a byproduct and not a reason I was looking to change . Let me know your thoughts after a couple of days of owning it.

Will do. I was in the same boat had the k&n drop ins but I wanted to improve my 1/4 mile and intake was the last hope. I did not want any turbo or bov sound but it’s not really that loud and with windows up I don’t hear it much. It sounds good mixed with the jun mids and evc when in open. I’ve talked to people that have had the k&n intake and the bms is quieter. I think it’s because most intakes change the position of the pipe coming out of the bov closer to the filter but bms does not. I’ll get some videos up too so you can hear it.

Honestly I'm not even sure you'll be able to catch the BOV sound on video.
