2018 Stinger Recall - Wire Harness May Be Damaged By Fender

I had my wire harness checked Thursday. No wear. The grommet was put in. The car felt completely normal afterward.

I have not received any notification yet, I picked up my car December 15th 2018 prior to their campaign start for this recall. My build is Feb 2018, perhaps the letter is still yet to come.

I didn't wait for a letter. The build dates period (as I heard here on the forum) is September 17 through April 18 (iirc). Anyway, my Feb 18 build date (also) falls right in the middle. Yours needs looking at. During my latest oil change, I had them check it out. When (if) the letter finally arrives, it will be old news. :P

I missed this thread. I received letter on mine. Headed back to my dealer for third time in month for warranty work.

Got my letter. Purchased in December of '17. Waiting another month or so in order to have it done with oil change, etc.

Had the following done today, oh and no mention of my mods, jb4, borla or cut outs all which I know they saw. The wire harness is on passenger side next to the jb420190107_174444.webp

That's what I did. No reason to take it in twice when once will do.

I'm pretty sure the harness in question is on the driver's side. Eh?o_O

Got mine scheduled for next Monday. Worried about the intake I just installed. Probably will swap with OEM this weekend. I'll pay attention to how it's driving afterwards thanks to this thread.

Anyone waiting while this is being done? Taking long?

Thanks.

I waited for mine as well. Did not take long, as posted above 45 min max.

With the oil change, tire flip and regular maintenance check, plus the wire harness check and grommet in, I was at the dealer for c. an hour and a half. They said, "Expect this to take up to two hours."

I just did my own in 10 mins and took pictures. I figured i could show KIA no issue and the work is done but they said no! Oh well. Guess i can get to it in a year or two now. :)

The dealer and Kia techs won’t get paid if you do it yourself. It’s all about the buck.
