LAP3 requires you to upgrade the plugs in order to work properly. I'm thinking TorkMS didn't get that info until they started experiencing the misfires and then changed to what was recommended.I just put in the plugs a few hours ago so literally drove to the store in back. My stock plugs looked good. Color was normal, no cracks. Car ran great with Racechip in race mode w 92 octane. Adding Ark exhaust this week so figure i'd be safe and do the plugs. I am a little curious why the Tork motorsports had those burnt red colored plugs. They are using the Uncle chip, intake and muffler delete and had been experiencing blow our it sounded like. Wonder if the uncle chip tune is more prone to spark issues than the RC.
Yes, my NGK plugs looked just like yours.LAP3 requires you to upgrade the plugs in order to work properly. I'm thinking TorkMS didn't get that info until they started experiencing the misfires and then changed to what was recommended.
RC is and will always be a tune for STOCK vehicles so I'm not surprised you didn't see any problems with your plugs.
That being said did you get a chance to see my plugs in the other thread and if so, did your plugs look like mine?
That's great to hear!Yes, my NGK plugs looked just like yours.

I would say this confirms what @RaceChip has said all along. Their tune does not require any modifications to work as intended. Only thing you need to really pay attention to is the fuel recommendations for each setting.
Ah I must have missed that.On the contrary, @Diggerdale had two plugs crack while running RaceChip with 93 octane. He caught it and upgraded his plugs before it caused him any problems though.
I don't think any tune should be ran with plugs in stock condition. Doing so is a recipe for disaster.
The guy i sold my RC to did crack his stock plugs in the first week on 94 octane. So changing plugs is a good idea.Well after reading all the comments ,,I ordered RS chip with the App ,and new Plugs should arrive early next week ,I will get the plugs installed and gapped at .026 or .028 as the RC will only boost up to +44 hp the claimed +100 of torque ,I will use either NGK8s or the Denso ,and I run the car always with 94 Octane !
my area is around 350 meters above sea level ,and as this RC comes with 6 settings ,I will see how well it work s as the weather is colder here now.
The one thing ,that I am wonder is this will work if I decide to change the exhaust system in the future ????

Exhaust will be fine to add.
Someone one forums ran 12.49 on RC with a RWD and dynoed and it was 19.5 psi in race mode.

And that someone is ryan1 stinger.I called RC Support and had them up the race mode to Map 7. Only used that with 94 Octane and above. Per my dyno test using RC GTS Black on race (Map 7) with 98 Octane and I saw HP gains of about 72 and Torque over 100.
I sent a request to RC to see if my RS can get a more powerful Race Map as I have now installed the Denso plugs and had them gapped to .024 and using only 94 octane ! I have not heard back as of yet from RC, just not sure if it is possible to do on the RS race chip with app !

Thanks Ryan , for the great info on upgrading the RS race chip .. I will indeed send off a message to RC support and see if they can upgrade my Map to the stage 7 ,,If you have the RC w/app you can ask them to upgrade Race Mode to Map 7. I’ve had luck with them being responsive. You can email their support or reach out on the RC thread. To be honest, I just call their Germany support number and talk to a rep very quickly, however that is expensive unless you have an international plan.
As for anyone telling you telling you to sell the RC, just ignore that. The Chip works great and I’ve had no issues with the cold plugs HKS. In Map 7 it added 73hp and 125 ft-lbs Torque. Best of luck. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to me directly.
2) Canadian 94 octane fuel in my experience performs like 89-90 octane. So you are better off using your 91 octane Canadian fuel.
