Having a shit ton of issues going Catless in Chicagoland weather. im talking 20PSI on Stock Maps.

Also, the last couple days have been low single digits to about 10 degrees. Today it going to be in the 20s

When you say temps are you talking about the outside temps or coolant and oil temps? Are you full catless?

outside and IAT. I am fully catless.
Interesting and informative. Wonder if that's specific to the cold weather, or simply a side effect of going catless. Maybe low backpressure or something is confusing the ECU so its unable to regulate boost properly?

Are you running the IAT wires Terry recommended for cold weather?

I am, but i believe the IAT were designed to push more boost in colder weather not decrease it. Im 99.9% sure its the combo of cold weather and catless as many are catless. Terry wants me to run a map3 test (which potentially could put me over 28 psi -_-), but im not confident in that. Im going to throw some cats on this weekend see how it reacts, before doing anymore test.

I don't understand: why go "catless" in the first place? Added exhaust noise? More HP? And now you have "issues" and you ask why?

Time to get edumacated ...

wtf? do you know how to read? Try reading first you jackass. Talking about getting educated? I know what the issues are from. The thread was to see what temps are people seeing that are running catless without over boosting issues.

You go catless because that is the single biggest restriction with the exhaust.

Where did you see me asking for a why am i over boosting?

I think you legit just post to get that count up instead of providing any information.

I believe you're correct, so maybe that setting & cold is causing the extra boost? Have you noticed any PSI difference with that FUD Bit setting off?

One of my buddies is also catless with a JB4, but he isnt running into boost issues here in warm FL.

And I agree, if already hitting 20psi stock(map 0?) then do more logs & testing before trying map3. Hope you figure it out as that cold weather should help you run some great numbers and look forward to your results.

I agree. Im about 75/25 on thinking that I wont be able to be catless in these temps without a tune, but once I try the cats this weekend to confirm ill get some boostane and try a map3 log.

I did turn 6 cyl back to Zero which would turn off the IAT spoofing. After the cat test if i see boosts return to stable numbers ill run some test with it back off using a 6 cyl at 40 per and some boostane Terrys request.

I am pretty sure he is saying that he needs to get educated not you.

Do you mean without an ECU tune? Because I'm not sure wastegate control is figured out yet on ECU tunes. Hopefully BMS can get that going on the JB4 to fix these issues you northerners are having :D

Correct. I dont think a piggyback can solve it. I do think proper Torque management would help me out though.

I am willing to try additional testing once i feel comfortable that there is nothing else going on. Would be nice if he did finish up those EWG controls but not sure if that will be done anytime soon.

Hopefully I get some Cold TEmp responses on what others are seeing. I know KLR had similar issues but they eventually sorted themselves out. He told me he would try to get a pull this week and log it since he is catless in simular weather.

Seriously? Are you just trying to troll, or have you never modified a car in your life?

Most people spent $50k for the Stinger GT because they wanted as much performance as they could get for the money. Otherwise they would have saved the $10k+ and got the 2.0l...

Real auto enthusiasts are always looking for ways to improve their vehicles and going catless is just one way to make their $50k car perform like a $100k+ Audi S, BMW M, Benz AMG, etc!

So to help you understand, yes people change the Stingers restrictive stock exhaust for more HP. More Power=More fun! And if you dont agree with that statement then you may have the wrong car!

So weird...I was catless, 0 codes even when I was 6000ft up in the snow.

Have you tried disconnecting JB4 and see if it still happens?

Never had overboost issues, then again...I'm not on a JB4 .

No overboost ever on Lap3 but hey, we got ripped off right ?
