Did Kia end up fixing your issue?
I feel like it may be a waste of a Saturday for me to go and sit at Kia about this. Even though I noticed it a couple thousand miles ago I ignored it, thinking it was being caused by a tack in one of my tires. Unfortunately I still get the shudders after changing wheels/tires.
Now I feel like Kia may blame the aftermarket wheels/tires for the problem.
Did you call the premium hotline number or talk to the service techs first?
yes kia replaced free under warranty. i just emailed the service manager for my dealership and let him know of the issue and scheduled an appt.
1st appointment - they drive and confirm issue and turn rotors once
issue was fixed for a few days/week but came back... became worse real fast so emailed again
2nd appointment they ordered rotors and replaced.
basically from what others have experience this is the usual.
they can't turn rotors more than once then rotor thickness is out of spec/too thin
but they will try on 1st visit just to see if they can get away with not replacing the rotors under warranty.
it's definitely not fun to waste time, but to get rotors replaced for free it's probably worth it. take advantage of the warranty. the vibrating or wobbly steering wheel during braking can get sketchy. will only get worse over time
curious what do you mean by "Unfortunately I still get the shudders after changing wheels/tires."?
assuming you have the issue all the time (usually highway speed any type of braking you get vibrations maybe in pedal or steering wheel) and can easily be replicated, you should get rotors replaced under warranty. just got to go thru the motions 2 service visits max.
