@netmag, take a look at the Stingers in person. There were colors I found unacceptable in photos that I'd happily drive home. The deep chroma blue is great but there are other good choices.

Yeah, I plan on doing this since I don't have anything else to do, but wait for 2019 to see if they correct some of their decisions.

I definitely agree here. Especially that dark grey if you want to somewhat hide the rear side reflector and hood vents. You can take a look at some dark grey photos here:
Panthera Metal and Thunder Grey Discussion
...maybe in 2025 when somebody finally posts one... :eek:

Panthera Metal is my #2 (albeit a distant #2). I fear it may not have enough pop in certain lights, but I'll have to see one in person to decide for sure if it's really a competitor. Also, the Micro Blue is nice and we've seen similar colors on other cars that looked great. It's not as luxurious a color as Deep Chroma Blue, but still looks great. It does look a little too light on the Stinger in pictures though. Again, I plan to get to a dealer when they get some stock to see in person.

I agree entirely, I have the Deep chrome blue and let me tell you pictures , photos whatever do not do justice when you see the colour in the "Flesh". USA: Demand Deep Chroma Blue.

"USA: Demand deep chroma blue"... We're working on it :) I saw the color on a youtube video from a US dealership and it looked spectacular! I don't want it to be too purple looking but from what I saw, I love it! I'd get that with a red interior myself.

I agree in pictures but disagree in daylight. Micro Blue isn't as righteous as Deep Chroma Blue but it still looks damned good.

To me, one not offered on the Stinger in general: park heating. Bein in a country with quite a bit of snow I wanted that. Now I'll have to check if a webasto etc fit (I hear negative things) which will also cost a shitton again .. more than double the original options normally.

Park heating...is that like an engine block heater?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Might be the term for it, since engineblock heating is usually part of it.

I actually had to look up in the translator what word you guys might use ... I'm not sure what the Murican term is for it. :) German has a very specific term for it .. "Standheizung". I mean the things that can be activated by remote and/or timer etc to heat up your cabin anytime. Webasto etc amke them .. little gas burners grabbing abit of gas through an extra tube to the tank and heating up the water flowing through engine block and climatic system.

Interesting. I've never heard of that. I believe our engine block heaters are just electric heating elements that warm inside the oil pan, but that technology might have changed since I last saw one.

@ralzod
I think they're active in the US since quite a while ... should be fairly easy to obtain and install. The problem is, if these are offered by the maker, they're around 1200 to 1500 USD where I live. if you get them installed aftermarket, it quickly goe sup to 3000 here, because you need to work inside a soemtime rather cramped Enginecompartment etc ... which is annyoing :/

@Charly
Spend a Winter in Switzerland once :P Or visit your northern relatives at the Moment.

This park heating option you're talking about, if I'm not mistaken, has been available in the BMW 7-Series. I had a 2006 750Li and I'm almost certain I was able to schedule the car to start and heat the cabin. I'm in south Florida so I never had a reason to use it. And at the time I was living in a Condo community with no private garage. I didn't want my car starting out there without me anywhere near it...

The normal webasto type is available anywhere here :) I can order that in any bread and butter car like a Skoda Octavia, it is by no means a luxury car option where I am. I was astonished not to find it in a high priced Kia as an option. In areas with warm climates all year, I can see why it's not there of course. The ones here do not start the car in any way. They're a mostly independent system. What they do need is access to the climatic system fans, so they can get the air circulating. But they do not (and can not) start the engine or anything else in the car.

@voon, I've only been in Schweiz in June. Loved it. I don't think I want to try winter. However, what I meant was that, judging by the ad, you can turn on the park heater and climb into a nice, warm cabin. Who needs heated seats when the whole cabin is warm?

Hey, I just remembered that the Korean-spec Stinger that was on display had passenger seat controls on the left side of the passenger seat back. That's another thang us 'Muricans didn't get.

Very interesting! Sure would love that on a day like today. Their US website seems to indicate it's available here too, not just in the EU, so perhaps we'll start seeing products like that in the near future.
Funny how different needs are. Down here being Summer most days are 95f everyday. Ive had problems keeping cool. I find the stinger very hot inside even with the seat cooling and ac on. Im wondering about the cabin insulation.

Really?? We get that kind of weather here in Florida during our LONG Summer. I guess we'd better prepare to hear about this if it's an issue...

When i picked up the car it wasnt a hot day. The dealer was in the passenger seat spent an hour going through all the bells and whistles. The heat coming through was staggering. Felt the bonnet as we had to have the car running. Shocked at the bonnet heat. To me its an inernally very hot car.

I imagine the air conditioning won't work all that well when just sitting. But it should still work. I wonder if there's an issue with your Stinger specifically...
