Missing UVO remote start and 360 camera is like selling you a Big Mac meal without the Big Mac but at least you get the McDonalds bag with napkins and fries.
Lol that might be just a little bit extreme. Maybe if you put it the other way around.

I voted on the trivial lack of the cupholder cover since we get all the rest (except Limited slip since we only get AWD in Can)..

That's why I said the fries are still there, once you finish the fries it makes you wanting more.

Ahh, the fries. I didn't even notice those. The fries are like the exhaust. At least you can still drive the car without it. :p

I am reaching out to the Kia Canada rep and ask for some more firm answers. The quick and easy answer is that Kia vehicles get warranty coverage from Canada to Mexico. Here is a link for the CND owners manual for the Stinger (English version) www.kia.ca/content/ownership/ownersmanual/18stinger.pdf
There are a lot of question being raised about the Stingers not being the same vehicle. The CND GT Limited version comes with everything that is possible with a car these days.....outside some James Bonds features maybe and a chauffeur (but that would take the fun out of it if someone else drove it for you!). We do have 4-Stingers coming to use, that we know of for sure before or on Feb 14th. Look at what showed up at the dealership on Friday! an Atomic Blue GT (not the limited) with black Nappa leather interior. Pre-sold that we were expecting Dec 28th after the latest shipping update....and band 3 days later it is here in Edmonton. Not the first time we heard that one was coming in weeks and then days later it is here much earlier! So that Feb 14th delivery of the 4-Stingers (all still for sale) could be much earlier.

Most important missing feature is the Genesis G90 V8 engine.

Yeah, you're not along there - though I'm sure Kia could get a lot more power out of this engine to safely make it far more powerful than the 5.0 Tao V8. But if it's the exhaust tone you like most about the bigger engine - well - can't replace that. :p

1) the letter may be difficult if not impossible to get. Basically the letter has to say it is the same car as what's sold in the US. We all know KMA had them change the exhaust so it's louder in america, so can they say it's the same car? I'm not sure
2) warranty coverage. I have not seen the canadian owners manual, I have seen the American manual. It specifically states that the car is only to be titled and registered in America and that is the only place the warranty would be honored. Does the Canadian one say the same thing? Why would Kia America agree to cover warranty items on a vehicle they did not make any money on?
3) the loan. I can all but guarantee you a bank in Canada will not give you a loan on a car you are going to register in the US. If you quit paying how would they repo it? Not with out a ton of extra work that is for sure. Not going to be worth it to them. As for an American bank, if you can get KMA to honor the warranty you might have a chance, if not I doubt any bank will loan you 50k for a brand new car with no warranty, maybe at a way higher rate if you put a ton down?
Here is a link for the English version of the Canadian (EH) Kia Stinger owners manual for you. Easily searchable in this PDF format over 510 pages long! If you find info you believe is important please post, with so much data in this doc the important stuff can get missed! Thank you sir. However, that just keeps referencing another document. The "Warranty and Consumer Information manual." Can you provide a copy of that?
Also do have any idea how the remote services through UVO would work. I have to imagine that the cell coverage is contracted with a Canadian company. Any idea if I somehow would be able to register that and make it work in the US?
Note I am interested for sure as it's only about a 4.5 hour drive to Canada from here..

This is the electronic version of the manual that we deliver and hand over in person to all new owners for all new vehicles on delivery day. This is the 2017 version. I will keep looking for the online version of the 2018 version (could be the same). The majority of vehicles that we have on our dealership lot are by a large majority 2018 vehicles. We have very, very few 2017 editions left. The buyers at this dealership keep a tight rein on the order numbers! Which is a good thing for the most part, gives us the freshest stock year around, but does limited colour choices some days! Leading to minor wait at times. I see many dealers (outside Kia) that have tons of 2017 and even new 2016 unsold vehicles still, that of course is not good for so many reasons, minus the colour choice one! :-)
Hope the info in this manual is helpful Chris; www.kia.ca/content/Owners/warranty/2017_Kia_Warranty_Manual_en.pdf (PS: Still would like to hear right from a rep, more info the better for this subject matter). T.

So these parts of that manual would have me worried about buying the car in Canada and registering it in the US.

I'm not even sure who at Kia I could contact to get a new contract in writing specifing that KMA would honor the Canadian warranty, as the text in that warranty guide clearly state it's only valid if it is taken to a Canadian Kia dealer and is registered in Canada. Bummer..

Hey Chris . As for UVO Services it is through a canadian Cell Company (BELL). However I would imagine it would work just like if you brought a phone over from Canada. Also They dont have a Credit Card to Bill Roaming to LOL

I'm from the UK and would love the option to have a headlamp washer system, I am aware led lights don't require them as opposed to an xenon system which in the majority of cases would have had a headlamp washer system fitted for the European market.

Welcome aboard, @TG Regnits! Thank you for signing up. Yes, it would be nice to have a headlamp wash feature - but at least you're not missing something that other countries have. To my knowledge, no Stinger has this feature. So at least there's that. :)

Is anyone in touch with Kia executives or representatives? We need to have a serious discussion...

No idea how one might go about getting contact info, let alone convincing them to see things our way.

This is a bad time of the year to try and meet up with the rep we have. People are away and or not on normal schedules for when they are normally here for regular meetings. And nationally same thing people are away until the New Year. I am still pursuing but if anyone else out there makes a solid contact PLEASE SHARE the info!!

I want that missing feature that is already engineered into the car, was shown on the demo cars, is offered in all of the other markets, and is available on many other Kia and competitor's cars of the same or lower class.

YEAH!!! What this guy said!!!

I went with the 360 camera. I can live without the wireless charging and heated rear seats. My next thing would be colors because that deep chroma blue is gorgeous.
I agree entirely, I have the Deep chrome blue and let me tell you pictures , photos whatever do not do justice when you see the colour in the "Flesh". USA: Demand DCB.

I went with color because I'm not sure if I can get one if it's not Deep Chroma Blue. I'd have to see the other colors in person to be 100% sure. Maybe it's because of the dark chrome accents and the black hood vents, but for some reason we feel like a darker color is needed to blend those things in a bit better and Deep Chroma Blue is the best dark color they have.

However, I really feel that the 360 CAM is actually a really helpful safety feature for this vehicle given the limited rear viewing. It's a bit more than just a "nice to have" or gimmick feature for this particular vehicle especially if you're paying around 50K for it. If they wanted to cheat the US customers out of something, they probably should have chosen the HUD or some of those other sensors.

Still though, I'm forced to go with color first because I may not even get this vehicle in another color.

@netmag, take a look at the Stingers in person. There were colors I found unacceptable in photos that I'd happily drive home. The deep chroma blue is great but there are other good choices.

I definitely agree here. Especially that dark grey if you want to somewhat hide the rear side reflector and hood vents. You can take a look at some dark grey photos here:
Panthera Metal and Thunder Grey Discussion
...maybe in 2025 when somebody finally posts one... :o
