What did you pay for your Kia Stinger?

Okay, if you’re tired of me putting in offers I’m working on, let me know. But this is the “what did you pay” thread, so I gotta think it’s not too far off base.

okay:
1. CPO, 2018 GT1, AWD, 14,900 miles: $32,900 (down from $35,900)

2. CPO, 2018 GT2,AWD, 32,000 miles: $33,700 (down from $36,000)

3. CPO, 2018 GT2, AWD, 42,000 miles, new tires, pads and rotors $3 (down from $37,000)

All red, none include NYS taxes, fees are approx $750-$1000.

It can help quite a bit, usually dependent on how strong that cars ventilating seat fan is. Most of them just suck air from the footwell area, so if you are running cool air down there, it helps, but it’s a lot different than ac piping in the seats. There are a few cars that have this, but it’s usually like Mercedes S class stuff. Ime it’s far more effective to remote start and have ac running before for 3 min.
I was gonna say, is AC piping in seats a thing? You'd have to have refrigerant and return lines for such extravagance.

Tough choice. Can't go wrong with any of those really. I'd go with #1. I'd rather have less miles than the couple extra GT2 features. 14,900 is almost a new car...

This is assuming all are in relatively same condition.

If it was the 2019 GT2 I'd choose #2 option. The 2019 model year GT2 added 360 degree camera and power tailgate.

just realized GT1 has 18 inch wheels. Is that a downside compared to 19 inch?
I don't consider it a downside. Bigger wheels means less sidewall and you are more likely to get bent wheels or flat tires when hitting pot holes.

Width is far more important. Almost all racers put on the smallest wheel possible for unsprung weight advantage and acceleration/braking advantage. There is a small advantage to turn in, with a lower profile tire when we are talking about small size changes, but in the wet the taller tire sidewall tire used with smaller wheels gives more grip due to the flex.

I'd choose #1. The GT1 is equipped good enough for me and the lower miles will help your resale value down the road

Any final thoughts?

I talked #1` (CPO, 2018 GT1, AWD, 14,900 miles) down to $32,600 (before NYS taxes/fees).

I think it's the cheapest GT1 in the entire country right now, at least on Auto Trader and Car Gurus.

Feels like a great deal now, hope it still is in 3 months if I had waited...20/20 hindsight I guess.

Seems like you've done your due diligence! Go for it!!!

Can confirm. Had to replace both right side wheels when I hit pretty massive pothole. Pretty sure a tank would need new treads given this b*#&@ of a pothole, though...

I'm going for it...put $1000 down on it today to reserve it and drive down tomorrow to pick it up. I'm joining the stinger crowd!!!!!

By the way, the only mod I want to do for the time being is ditch the Kia badges for the "E" of excellence and get the "Stinger" scroll writing across the back . i don't, however, think it's worth the risk of ruining the paint though...any thoughts on how "safe" a rebadge is for paint?

I just did the same thing on mine. I was very concerned about the paint as well. As long as you are careful and take your time, its not likely to cause damage. I did the fish line method and cut through the double sided tape above the paint line. once the badges were off, you can scrape off the remaining tape gently with a fingernail and then a bit of goo gone to remove residue.

The most important thing is to not rush the job and yank the badges off mid way. I've seen a couple of videos where guys have done that and ended up turfing the paint.

If you end up scuffing the clear coat a bit, you can get car scratch remover from anywhere and gently buff it smooth if needed.

Great, I think you did an excellent job. Did you purchase form the KDM warehouse that I see ads for everywhere on this forum?

Did you use a heat gun to soften it first?

Hairdryer/ heat gun, goo gone, and fishing line. Gently heat and take your time, use slow sawlike swipes. As a female, probably the only mod I accomplished without failure lol

Thanks and yes I got everything from here. The store and the forum are run by the same guy Sal. Very helpful.

I didn't use a heat gun because the car had been sitting in direct sun for a few hours before I did it. I do have a heat gun though and was planning to use it if needed. It softens up the sticky tape and makes it easier to cut with fishing line.

Btw, don't use anything less than 15 pound. I found that out the hard way. Thinner is good but it breaks too easily. I tried 6, 12 and 15 pound and 15 worked the best. You don't want it to be too thick because then it won't cut as easily. Also keep track of where the posts are on the back of the badges as you will have to saw around them.

If you are buying the front badge like mine from here, make sure you request the two post front hood version as they will remove the third post (and add adhesive where it sat)

For me the hardest one (and I am not a female btw) was the rear reflector delete. Requires a lot of disassembly in the rear trunk area and the pressure clips used are nearly impossible to free up without breaking them. Fortunately the ones from the store have fresh clips on them.
