What’s everyone’s opinion on mileage?

there’s a one owner lease, 2018 GT2 AWD for $33,700. It’s CPO, but has 44k miles.

should I be scared on mileage over a certain amount?

Why moreso than any other car? One thing Kia has going for it is great warranty. Even though the second owner gets less of a warranty as long as you do a full PPI on the car before buying it, you should be fine.

This is the best deal you've asked about so far IMO. 1) it's a GT2, 2) the CPO warranty will cover you until 100K for the powertrain so if you're looking at mileages in the 40s based on your budget and want to keep the car for awhile, I think the CPO is worthwhile.

See if you can get it down to 31-32. Are the tires and brakes original? If so, that's a pending expense. Tires could be close to $1000 for 19s.... That's one big thing to think about for cars in the 30k+ mile range.

I guess bottom line is this...

I can roast my ass off over the summer in my 97 firebird and buy in the fall. Or try to find a "under valued" one now.

My fear is "under valued" now will be considered a rip off in 3-4 months, but maybe markets won't settle down that fast.

What would you do?

That was the same position I found myself in. They expect the market to "stabilize" in the fall which means the prices will stop going up. It'll still be next year sometime before they start to come down. Inevitably you will buy something and you will find one cheaper. Like I just did. SMH. Find a price you can live with.

36k before tax title ect. 2018 GT-1 26,500 miles. Already has lowering springs and sway bars installed. I found one for same money, no suspension work but 9k less miles. I bought mine about two weeks ago. Not the deal I'm used to, but I needed a car sooner rather than later. I couldn't wait till next spring/summer. Now my wife's car we will be waiting till next year for the prices to go down. But her car is still in great shape.

I hear you…I got $18800 for a car I paid $20700 for 2.5 years ago (and added 30k miles). I figure it “justifies” a little higher than normal.

In Canada, prices are even worse used. When I can get north of 42k CAD for my 2 year old car that was only $50k CAD new that's crazy.

I'd get that GT2 and chew them down at much as possible. Icy cold ventilated seats sound nice compared to roasting your buns.

Cars are expenses no matter what, but the dopamine hits are worth it. And new tires and pads are a good 'freebie'. Call them and say you'll pay $31k. They'll probably say no, but then land on $32k. I just looked up KBB and anything under $35k isn't a bad deal. Fair market value seems to be $34-35k, so even as listed you wouldn't be getting ripped off.

That sounds reasonable to me. Let's see how close I can get to that. It's on the website for $35,500, getting him down to 33,700 took some doing, I think there's more room to go. There's always going to be another one, so I keep reminding myself not to settle.

Make sure its the color and interior you want as well. I ended up with Thunder grey and a red interior. I was looking for black on black but the deal i got was simply too good to pass on. I like the current color combo but it wasn't my first choice.

Funny you mention that. I wanted either ceramic grey with red or Micro blue w/ tan. This is Red with black...I like it, don't love it. But I figure I drive the car, not the color. I just wanted to avoid silver lol

If you have your car's AC on then the ventilated seats use that cool ambient air to ventilate the seats. Feels pretty cold to me, after a while I turn them off. It's much needed where I live because east coast is very hot and humid.

Banter is good...I like it. Know what's really annoying? dealers consistently posting lease buyouts on their website. Prices looks too good to be true (they are), and then you call and find out it's someone buying their lease out. Happened 3-4 times in the last month.

It can help quite a bit, usually dependent on how strong that cars ventilating seat fan is. Most of them just suck air from the footwell area, so if you are running cool air down there, it helps, but it’s a lot different than ac piping in the seats. There are a few cars that have this, but it’s usually like Mercedes S class stuff. Ime it’s far more effective to remote start and have ac running before for 3 min.
