Escondido (north county) just offered 42221 sale price, close, but not quite...
Yeah, I think I have read too many great deals from other states. I figure $41500 on a $51000 car is a pretty damn good discount.
I don't have the sheets in front of me since I'm sitting at home thinking between my options. Here's how the numbers came out:
White/Red GT for 29.8K (24/10K lease)
GTS 31K (24/10K lease)
Fees & taxes add ~$3K to either one, 36/10K adds 1100/1400 respectively
Now, I really appreciate the white on red but I was hoping for a GT2. Wife prefers the white (and no sunroof) over GTS but I like the color, upgraded stereo, and wireless charging. Prefer w/o sunroof and not the biggest fan of the alcantra or whatever is *all* over the interior. I haven't called around SoCal yet, this was my first stop, but it looks like I'm coming in right around similar pricing as the GT2s some are talking about in the thread.
How are these numbers? Someone mentioned a lease+buy "hack?" Is that a thread around here describing the plan of attack? I'm only getting $9.7k lease cash off these but looks like they're tossing in $2Kish dealer cash.
Ideally, I'd find a white on red GT2 for same price as GTS, which would make the wife happy.
I've seen the GTS RWD come close to some of the GT1 numbers but MSRP is lower on the GTS. With that being said I'd think the MSRP on GTS AWD is alot less then a GT2
Second dealer is offering me a white with black interior GT2 for $36k ($38ish with fees/taxes).
How am I doing? I was hoping to land around $34K...is that unrealistic?

It's RWD. $51.765 MSRP. I've contacted 4 dealers (worked through one deal in person) and they're all coming back with $9,700 lease cash. We're at $35.5K w/o taxes/fees for a 24/10K but I'm planning on buying it out.
I'd really like to tighten up that $1,500 difference on the lease cash, which would put me at the $34k that I saw someone posting a couple pages back. Sales said he'd like me to come in and we'd get the numbers right, "presence is persuasion," but I don't want to drive two hours just to be told he was only able to knock $500 more off.

I'm trying to deal with all the dealers from San Diego to OC who have my preferred color and trim. What dealers are you working with? I am still more interested in a purchase (finance, then pay off almost immediately), but curious what results you get.
Thanks in advance,

The only one that's been catastrophic was Kia of El Cajon where the lady called me after my email inquiry and said, "do you know these are 48K cars?" I said I was aware of the details, had competing offers from other dealerships, and to not call me simply to speak down to me. She laughed and said, "well, she knew for a fact no one is giving $16K off." I asked her if she was going to give me her best price or just bored and argumentative. She said just "verifying information" and then I responded that I won't be giving her my business and she hung up.
So unless you appreciate that kind of sales approach I'd steer clear.
Now I'm emailing each dealer from San Diego to LA to send me their best cash price and I'll pick it up on Wednesday.
What were you advised to ask?Let me know how that goes lol. I was advised not to never ask "for best price" because they'll just respond with a high price.
