What did you pay for your Kia Stinger?

Escondido (north county) just offered 42221 sale price, close, but not quite...

I'd buy a GT2 for that price.

If you cannot get the color/setup that you want for the price dealerships are offering you, are you willing to walk away? If you don't need the car you're in a good position as a buyer. On the other hand if you're targeting 2019 cars then you're running out of time and options. I'm pretty sure you won't find that kind of price off the bat for the 2020 cars.

Yeah, I think I have read too many great deals from other states. I figure $41500 on a $51000 car is a pretty damn good discount.

If it makes you feel any better, while you know there are people who bought the car for a lower price, there are also people who bought the car at a higher price. Just don't be that guy who bought the car at the highest price. :D

I don't have the sheets in front of me since I'm sitting at home thinking between my options. Here's how the numbers came out:
White/Red GT for 29.8K (24/10K lease)
GTS 31K (24/10K lease)
Fees & taxes add ~$3K to either one, 36/10K adds 1100/1400 respectively

Now, I really appreciate the white on red but I was hoping for a GT2. Wife prefers the white (and no sunroof) over GTS but I like the color, upgraded stereo, and wireless charging. Prefer w/o sunroof and not the biggest fan of the alcantra or whatever is *all* over the interior. I haven't called around SoCal yet, this was my first stop, but it looks like I'm coming in right around similar pricing as the GT2s some are talking about in the thread.

How are these numbers? Someone mentioned a lease+buy "hack?" Is that a thread around here describing the plan of attack? I'm only getting $9.7k lease cash off these but looks like they're tossing in $2Kish dealer cash.

Ideally, I'd find a white on red GT2 for same price as GTS, which would make the wife happy.

Yeah, there is a a sticky on the front page regarding the lease then buy out option. I have run the lease by a couple dealers, and I don't get an $11k discount, but $9.7k instead.

Still working a few dealers, but best car price I have seen yet is $41,7xx.

Now I am wavering between white and metal...

I've seen the GTS RWD come close to some of the GT1 numbers but MSRP is lower on the GTS. With that being said I'd think the MSRP on GTS AWD is alot less then a GT2

Based on what I am seeing on line, I concur. Looks like one could have a GTS for under $40k for sure.

Second dealer is offering me a white with black interior GT2 for $36k ($38ish with fees/taxes).

How am I doing? I was hoping to land around $34K...is that unrealistic?

38k with all taxes and fees is an excellent price. I'd jump on it. This is for a lease buyout, correct? If it's cash or financed, that's an insane price and won't be beat.

$34k is definitely unrealistic, at least right now since 2020's are barely hitting lots. That would be around $4k below invoice on a lease buyout. I didn't see anything like that on 2018's until well into 2019, and it was only for a few buyers who probably caught the right dealership on the right day.

RWD/AWD? MSRP?
According to Edmunds, Socal 24/10 should be $11,220 lease cash.

It's RWD. $51.765 MSRP. I've contacted 4 dealers (worked through one deal in person) and they're all coming back with $9,700 lease cash. We're at $35.5K w/o taxes/fees for a 24/10K but I'm planning on buying it out.

I'd really like to tighten up that $1,500 difference on the lease cash, which would put me at the $34k that I saw someone posting a couple pages back. Sales said he'd like me to come in and we'd get the numbers right, "presence is persuasion," but I don't want to drive two hours just to be told he was only able to knock $500 more off.

What dealers are you working with? I am still more interested in a purchase (finance, then pay off almost immediately), but curious what results you get.

Thanks in advance,

Pretty sure it's $11,220. Additionally, dealers absolutely can pocket the difference. Who knows. They could also be skimping on the discount (discount before lease cash application). Also, it may be possible they're including additional bonuses like VIN bonus, military bonus, etc. Any verbal quote can be massaged like that. IMO it's best to ask for a lease sheet or something in writing.

Btw I can't recall a time Edmunds was incorrect. But of course, they're human. You might wanna ask them yourself. 2019 Kia Stinger Lease Deals and Prices

But I think me&stinger said it well. IMO that's a great price (assuming they didn't massage the numbers)

I'm trying to deal with all the dealers from San Diego to OC who have my preferred color and trim.

The only one that's been catastrophic was Kia of El Cajon where the lady called me after my email inquiry and said, "do you know these are 48K cars?" I said I was aware of the details, had competing offers from other dealerships, and to not call me simply to speak down to me. She laughed and said, "well, she knew for a fact no one is giving $16K off." I asked her if she was going to give me her best price or just bored and argumentative. She said just "verifying information" and then I responded that I won't be giving her my business and she hung up.

So unless you appreciate that kind of sales approach I'd steer clear.

Wow, how terrible. Although I have to say that the forums have heard many horror sales stories - albeit from 2017-2018 when Stingers first came out - surprising to see that this is still going on.

Was this lady the receptionist/internet salesperson? If so, I have a feeling that it's a waste of time contacting the dealership receptionist or internet sales. I'd say keep casting a wide net to dealerships and see who bites. If you could squeeze out a lease sheet or something in writing with at least a decent deal (email or paper), you could use that as your leverage to negotiate with other dealers.

I was browsing the webpage and the chat popup appeared. I told the chat rep that I was interested in the car and what I was willing to pay. I received that call about an hour later and that was the sum total of the conversation so I'm not sure what position the person calling me was in.

Before that, I went in to my local dealer in person and gave them the first shot after my wife test drove it. Then I called two or three within a hundred miles. Now I'm emailing each dealer from San Diego to LA to send me their best cash price and I'll pick it up on Wednesday. Not sure if I should stick with that or simply ask for the best 24/10K terms; problem being I anticipate they'll play fast and loose with the numbers they quote me over the phone and I doubt any will give me anything in writing. My local dealer kept a pretty tight hold on the paperwork he was flashing earlier...guess I could have taken a picture of it but I wasn't that motivated to fight for it at that point.

Let me know how that goes lol. I was advised not to never ask "for best price" because they'll just respond with a high price.

What were you advised to ask?

For me, it doesn't matter too much given that regardless of whatever they tell me I still have to negotiate it down and then do the whole song and dance again after I decide to lease it. I can't imagine me saying anything one way or the other would get a truthful bottom dollar price from them anyway :)

I could be wrong. Short of someone acting rudely like the El Cajon dealership, however, my expectations are set about as low as possible. I have been a VW customer for so long not much surprises me anymore. That said, the worst had to be the Kia dealership that hard checked my credit without permission during a test drive and no matter who I spoke to at the dealership or credit bureaus there wasn't any way to remove the mark. Unless there's something higher than Tier 1 it's not impacting me negatively but it still hasn't rolled off so I'm annoyed by the principle of it.
