What did you pay for your Kia Stinger?

Just picked up a 2021 GT2 AWD, white with red int,new for 46000$. When I say new I mean it had 1000mi on it, but never sold by dealer. The dealership had changed hands and the car was part of the inventory of the old dealership. Fair price?

Just picked up one of the exact same spec/year! Mine had 76k miles on it, scooped for $25.5k. Real happy so far (had it for all of like 6 hours)

That's a lot of miles for a 2021 imo, I'm almost at 25k (24,932) on my 2020 and I bought it brand new with 2 miles. Anyways.........congrats on the purchase.

There’s a canadian spec tribute on sale on cars and bids right now with just 13k miles. Very shocked at the sticker, but I’m guessing import fees and the fact that it was jb4 tuned is affecting the price. Any insights here?

I saw that on there the other day.

Known Flaws
The attached Carfax history report indicates a "non-collision damage" incident in January 2024. The seller states that the windshield was replaced due to a chip. Repair documentation for the work performed is pictured in the gallery

Sorry, it’s currently at $20k USD

So basically no real damage. Seems like a deal if it sells for anything near what it is currently

Pretty cheap

@Bamm1 gave me a great idea to help inform the community what people have paid for their Stinger. So, here it is! Please tell us what you paid, which package your opted for, and where you're located. :)
$42,000 at 22k kms. Mississauga / TORONTO / GTA area. i got the Stinger GT2 Elite!

That's $30,698 freedom units by today's exchange rate.

needs under warranty headlight exchange cause apparently there’s a leak in them. getting it done this week. besides that it’s been great for the 10k kms i put into it so far. definitely getting the Borla S exhaust with tips and intake valve this month.

for what the car is, the power is there, coming from a baby c43 amg 2019 coupe. for the price, i don’t think there’s much that compares, can smoke the audi s line on winter tires :) it’s good enough until i get my 2025 Stingray!

i looked at the tribute in matte grey before buying my elite gt2, i also looked at a scorpion for sale. the tribute was asking for a firm $59k CAD, it had something around 7k or something lower on it. was not worth it, stinger deserved another cycle with a facelift and interior uplift with an elantra N type exhaust from factory done with a digital dashboard! it would have been amazing, but i ended up paying 42k CAD for a GT2 elite with 22k kms on it. i think it was a good deal, that’s before discounts from the dealer.

Sorry, but scoring a blue Stinger doesn't make you special. And you can keep your advice about removing emblems, lol. If Stinger owners were that badge conscious, we'd of bought BMW's or Mercs. Sounds like you're embarrassed by yours.
lmao people mistake it for a bmw all the time

Another run with elantra n like customization would be insane. Heck even a software upgrade giving us some functionality would be nice. Although any such update would completely shaft first-gen Stinger owners seeing as we lack active exhaust.

I doubt we’ll see another ICE version with how things are headed with the Kia brand.

Worse yet, Hyundai/Genesis seem to have found their footing for performance vehicles and are killing it. Elantra N, Forte GT, Ioniq 5 N. All those vehicles are pretty amazing deals.

All Kia’s done is cannibalize the Stinger for the K5 while diluting the Stinger’s amazing design by giving the K5 eye-catching an headlight shape & amber DRLs the Stinger lacks.

i haven’t driven the Elantra N but some friends wondered why i didn’t go with that instead, how does it drive? i had a Nissan Maxima SR for a few months till i totalled it in a really bad accident. it had what 320 horse power but i DESPISE the way a FWD car pulls you forward vs Rear Bias AWD and RWD cars pushing you into movement. otherwise, if there was a hybrid ELANTRA n Rwd/awd or even just an elantra N as a rwd i woulda bought it. i guess aftermarket is what the stinger was destined for!

I haven’t driven one unfortunately. I know a guy who has one and he’s had nothing but praises about it as it was his first KDM car and it was a pretty solid choice as well.

FWD are not my cup of tea anymore so I don’t see myself getting one unless they make an AWD N trim or something.

The Stinger really is an aftermarket car. Keep in mind no one has even opened up the engine block for performance modifications. I’m sure more of that will happen as warranties expire and more people try the platform.

No matter how you cut it a 3.3 TT V6 should be comfortably pushing ~450+ HP, stock.

Kia really did some heavy duty de-tuning when speccing out this car and I feel the Stinger suffered for it being as it’s so heavy.

Not sure if it’s the same exact block but the new Genesis concept coupe pushes 800 HP out of a Lamdba V6. 200 more with an electronic super-charger. There is potential in this platform. The aftermarket is just still so poor and will never get better now.

The Stinger having a low production run almost guarantees that anyone wanting to unlock real power from the internals have to pay a hefty some. Most would just switch platforms unfortunately.

The Stinger needed to have the same warranty as their other cars 10 years/100k. I'm sure they had to keep the power levels lower to have the car not blow up from factory. I do wish we woulda got another refresh or model though. I'm curious what the potential woulda been stock.

Well Kia were too conservative tbh. Alfa Romeo’s 2.9L TT V6 pushes 505 HP STOCK. Cadillac was able to get similar levels with their V6 as well.

Maybe but those companies have made performance models for a while now. This was Kia's first attempt. No point in putting out a 3.3tt with 500hp if the car doesn't hold up. We see how Kia has a reputation already.......part of the reason why the Stinger didn't sell well. So far, the car has been pretty reliable overall.

Unfortunately, there's plenty of people on the Internet at least (badge snobs) and in the real world that dog on Kia, think they are trash ect. Kia has proven them wrong with the Stinger imo. Could it have been better yes. Maybe better handling, an optional manual, a V8 version, maybe cost less, whatever you wanna say but I think they did alright for basically a 1st attempt at a performance car.

With that said, barely anybody bought the car and now it's discounted. Just enjoy your gem for what it is. You can always had HP to the car to get it more where you think it should be. My car is a daily driver so I need it to be reliable, so no big power upgrades for me until it's outta warranty. I don't wanna have to deal with that potentially being an issue.

I agree. I’m sure the Alfa guys would love our Stinger reliability and the Stinger was a great first attempt. But that’s the problem.

They gave up on their first attempt…
