What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Took the cover off 2 weeks ago for a drag challenge bro.

I see. Conflicted, your are. Ha hah. But you made this discovery. How long do you suppose that bolt has been missing from your differential? Was it caused by any of your disassembly/reassembly sessions? In other words, your fault from possibly over torqueing? Or did it simply end up missing prior to your ownership and you only now noticed?

It does appear that that bolt has a very low torque spec for its size.

I can tell you with certainty it didn't unscrew, have I ever torqued it?

Dunno probably, I tighten everything in my cars every couple of years... it's good practice.

I have many pics with both bolts brandishing a marking pen stripe and they were both level..

This my chaps is the result of launching with over 6psi hence the factory limits launch control to just 1psi I would deduce.

I refitted the race exhaust approx 6 weeks ago and the bolt was there then...

I am extremely hesitant to replace the bolts with a higher grade because then it will just break the diff mounting point...

Maybe the diff brace caused it, maybe if I kept the diff brace it may not have happened...

Cars?

It sure isn't the first time I have had to do this, but I never thought my Kia would give up on me 🤔

Wow! Are you saying that your playing around with six times the stock boost did this? And it's one thing to have a bolt head sheer off, but to have an entire mount snap like that boggles my mind. Why do you do this to yourself?

I don't think your "Kia gave up on [you]." I think you are in danger of killing it. But, you are having fun. So, "pay to play" is your theme song, it would seem.

Today I got both Stingers' oil changed. The Silky Silver one was first at ten-thirty. There was this dark matte metallic Stinger in the main service area. Through the window it looked like it could be a Matte Silver Tribute. But when our second Stinger the Micro Blue was done they parked it next to the other Stinger I had seen earlier. I think it is wrapped. But oddly enough, it has a spoiler like the Stinger edition, or similar - maybe somebody can confirm yea or nay on that. And the spoiler is not wrapped, but left gloss black. Maybe it's a recent addition and a work in progress, ready to get a matching wrap in matte silver. It needed a bath, even though the J. Seiner oil change and inspection includes a car wash. I got both of mine done. It had been over a week since I washed them.

edit - I just discovered that on January 1 this year Utah eliminated the front license plate requirement. Vehicles can run with only the rear plate. In fact, your one plate must be in the rear.
