So, I recently put on the gloss black mirror caps and vents. Was going through my storage, looking for some stuff to sell on eBay/Facebook. Came across this.......

Didn't even know I had it. Asked the Mrs about it. She said she bought it for Christmas.........2 Christmas's AGO. What??? I've had this for two freaking years?

If it came on when I was in reverse, I didn't see it. I was already watching my driver's side mirror as I angled back out. It was such a stupid combination of conditions I can't wrap my mind around how it was even possible. Except that my aged agent of entropy son makes these things happen.

edit to say, I reproduced the scenario, opened my RR door, both front doors, my wife closed hers, I closed mine, started the car, of course the open RR door icon appeared on the LCD screen, put it in reverse, navigation screen of course showed the backup camera view, started to back up watching my rearview side mirror, and glancing at the backup camera view - and don't even notice the LCD at all doing that. So, that explains why I failed to notice the LCD showing the opened door, but, it does not explain why I didn't notice that my son never closed his door at all. That was a major brain fart moment!? I am so pissed at myself. My son was completely to blame for setting me up. But I expect better of myself, my awareness, when I am starting to drive my favorite material thing.

I've already got an estimate of $1,500 to $2,000 dollars. Was hoping for paintless dent removal to the rescue. But no dice. Then, later, I noticed that the top corner of the door sticks out c. 1/16th of an inch, I can push it in, and when you shut the door there is a tiny momentary rattle - PDR wouldn't address that. Of course being bent forward enough to crease the door skin would result in a bent door frame too. That will bump the cost up even higher than the repair of the cosmetic damage. I have $500 deductible for collision, which covers this. But dang ...
:(

Forgot to post this last night but yeh... sounds good goes good, i shall call it a win for now.

Discovered this, this morning. It's all I can see. It extends to the ridge below the pic. No paintless dent removal, I was told.
Agents of entropy, aka children, do this sort of thing, at age 4, 5 or 45. You don't think to check for open doors when your son is the older of those ages. The carport center post caught the inside of the open door and started to peel the door off. My son shouted, "Stop!Stop!Stop!NOW! - after contact was made, too late in other words. I didn't think that contact was made. I thought that he had warned me just in time. Only when I walked out to my car this morning did I realize that was not true.

There's more, even before a second estimate appointment this Friday.

A couple of days ago I finally noticed that the window trim and rubber seal strip were bowed out about a foot in length, with the high center point of that bow c. 1/4th of an inch away from the roof when closed. Now Ima suspecting that they may need to replace the door.

With that possibility in mind, what's to lose? Got a cinder block and set it beside the door and stood on it for added height and leverage - the block of wood was back in the door sill, only now up high under the top corner of the door. And I jammed on that bowed trim and seal for all I was worth with my open palms - wearing Mechanix gloves, of course. The bow is there still, but considerably less, c. 1/16th of an inch bowed out instead of a quarter of an inch.

Just this morning, as my wife was getting out of the passenger seat, she said that she felt a tiny "catch" opening the door and could hear a click sound. Oh, goody. The RR door hinges on the B pillar had managed to move it enough to interfere with the front door. I tried it, and then went through the tracking down protocol - starting with cleaning the door seals, but that produced nothing - then got out the spray silicone. The latch when treated did not eliminate the click and catch. Applied silicone to the rear edge seal by the black plastic B pillar trim. That did it. The catch point is the upper corner seal area, and the silicone makes the sound and catch feel go away, so, thankfully this is very minor.

In the remaining two days, what else might I discover?

Been rolling around with stock exhaust for a month or so as i had a few road trips planned, but Willowbank Raceway was beckoning and the Weather was threatening all day but phuck it i wanted to run a real number anyway before I tear this thing apart and rethink what to do with this awesome car.
Track was absolutely mint so I have no idea why the 2.0 60ft, but I drilled the Chevy powered Holden beside me and won the battle by .07 so that was a small win lol.

Never racing this thing again with the stock exhaust or the Unichip !

Peace... have some photos lol.

I purchased a set of OEM air boxes on the cheap and decided to do an "OEM CAI" lol.

CAI OEM_1.webp

CAI OEM_2.webp

I have ducts feeding the air boxes so there's good air flow when moving and have the BMS silicone ducts connecting the boxes the the turbo's.
Filters are AEM dry panels.

All in all, a bit better spool time and a bit more noise while "looking" pretty stock.

Anyway, something different.........

I have done that mod to nearly all my cars bro...nice work.

Pick the odd one out lol, I ran a 12.6 @116mph

Pretty average to be honest, but stock std Stingers run 13.2 @108mph at this track so I dunno...

Unfortunately I can't help you with this, it appears correctly to me.
So, on this screen, you can scroll to be able to edit the settings?

He was in front of me and launched like an 8sec car but he had issues on the first run and rolled thru for a 10.00

It was great just to mingle with like minded guys again instead of arguing with keyboard warriors that cannot even spell KIA.

I've got nothing to prove to anyone, in fact I was so thankful my wife let me off the leash I finished everything around the house this weekend she has been bugging me to do for Years.

Definitely cannot wait to get back out to the track I forgot how good tyre smoke and race fuel smelt.
