What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

There's probably a thread or two on dealership experiences, and after 50 years of driving, I could probably start my own, and write a book on it.
Just a few quick stories: I was a Nissan guy back in the early 2000's and had a great dealership near me.
Bought more than one car from them. The dealership got sold to a conglomerate, and went in the shitter within 6 months. Never been back.
Bought a new Mazda in 2017 from a good dealership, then started going to another one near me for service. Night and day.
The one closest to me was horrible.
As for the Stinger, I bought it from the second dealer I visited, as the first one was a bad experience, especially with their finance guy.
The local Hyundai dealership didn't hesitate to take in the Stinger. It was a 10/10 experience for me.
Last year I stopped by a Genesis dealer not too far from me, and they made it clear they wanted nothing to do with me or my Stinger. Bad holier than thou attitude.

I think it depends on the owner of the KIA or Hyundai dealerships as the one KIA dealership near us is owned by

a local group that has been doing business in this metro area for decades. When we first started looking at

these models of cars, that dealership was owned by another entity and boy, they were a bit shady and it kind of soured

our thoughts of owning a KIA. When we bought the car used from a Hyundai dealership we knew it was a Canadian vin,

but what we didn't know is that when you import something from Canada (which somebody already did with this car)

that any warranty is null and void. No big deal, but when it comes to getting recall work done...our friends from Canada

said no problem just bring it up to BC and we will do the work. That was cool. But, its a couple hours away and

obviously not very convenient. So we reached out to KIA Canada and the "liaison" contacted the local US KIA dealership

so that we could get our recall work done. Initially, when we reached out to various US KIA or Hyundai service departments,

none of them would touch it. But, after the liaison from KIA of Canada contacted our local dealership, we got the recall

done. Kind of a headache, but its a Stinger GT2 and we love this car. OH, the car was in the garage today.

In keeping with my Stormtrooper theme, tonight I replaced my antenna with a black one from a donor car. (I didn't want to do a stick-on overlay)

Finding a -23 antenna in black was proving to be difficult, so what I figured out was that pretty much any 7-screw antenna would work as long as you swap your original antenna guts which is what I did.

Here are some pics of the differences. First the older style has 3 wires whereas the later ones have 4:

Interior guts are different as expected, newer in blue:

It's a small thing but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Finally got my new wheels installed yesterday:




Stance SF07’s in Brushed Dual Bronze wrapped in Continental Sport 02’s. Wheel Specs: 19x8.5 +25 front , 19x9.5 +40 rear. Tire specs: 245/40 and 275/35.
