Between the huge pay raise I'm getting and the lower state income tax rate (4.95% vs. 8.2% income tax rate) I'm coming out way ahead in Illinois. But I hear ya, Illinois has its problems but so does every place I've lived except for San Diego (that place is just pure paradise!).

Installed the DBA T3 rotors and hawk hps 5.0 pads today. Happy to have smooth deposit free rotors again. Hopefully the bedding process went well. It does appear I put down some pad material on the rotors at least and it looks nice and even. It was a big job hammering those old rotors off. Other than that the process wasn't too bad. Fortunately I had my son helping me. Down side is I nicked the paint on one of the calipers in the process. Got some rustoleum red enamel, high temp paint coming, even if the red isn't a perfect match at least it will be touched up.

Thanks! It is one of 9 in the US. Bought it from a friend that had 9 of them made and shipped here from S Korea.
What do you think of the yellow? I was actually thinking about painting it red...

Yeah I'm not big on the yellow. Red or black would be my choice but the brace itself looks great. I would buy one if I could.

Yup, I am going to get it either painted, or powder coated I think. I love that it clears the JT Intakes.

Installed the Maxton V2 front splitter today. Love it. This was the last mod I planned on doing so I can confidently say she’s done. One gripe though…if Maxton is going to put a sticker on their products, you would think they’d try to put them on straight. It’s off by a few degrees and looks wonky. I planned on removing it anyway but still….

On an unrelated note, what lurks behind this shield? I have one, too, but I haven't rooted around behind it enough to tell.



Is there some sensor or camera back there that needs protection from the elements / debris / etc.?

Or is this just some vestigial lens that KIA included on US versions for options that don't even exist in our market?
