What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Retired my griots 15mm polisher and picked up a dewault cordless polisher and did a 2 step compound and polish finished in about 4.5 hours. Then coated the car in gtechniq csl and topped it with exo v4. Unfortunately there’s some scratches I can’t get out but I can live with them since they’re not bad. All in all I have to say freshly coated without having time to cure she’s looking pretty sexy.

Hopefully next weekend I can get the h&r springs installed if it’s not too hot

Which EV are you considering?
Kia EV6, Maybe the Ioniq5,…. Also considering the Mustang…no Tesla here and don’t want $1000 car payment

Booooo.... I kid, the gas game is killing me too. Started looking at turds for my daily commute a while back. At the end of the day you gotta do whats best for you.

So I have another idea. If I can find a used fully electric turd I can still get the $4000 rebate from Illinois and keep the Stinger.. boom.. problem solved

Took her to a charity car show, After I cleaned her up of course…

Today, I...
✅Swapped the stock (?) NGK iridium plugs (which seemed to be gapped at least .028 or .030) out for HKS plugs (gapped to .022) in prep for JB4 install. This was a fair bit of nostalgia, as I believe the last time I swapped the plugs on a car it was to actually put NGK IRs (one range colder than stock, naturally) into my 1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD.
✅Installed a second-hand JB4 (including Fuel Wires and the OBD-II Port wire; I have a brand new set the EWG wires, but I wanted to verify 'proof of life' on my used JB4 before cracking it open). Snaking the OBD-II Port wire through the firewall is no fun. I tried the screwdriver method but only managed to slightly mangle the tip of the molex connector on the metal of the firewall as I attempted to ram it through. In the end, I finally wound up using some very long Impex needle-nose pliers, gripping the plug gently in the pliers and using the steel tips of the Impex to 'breach the wall'. This had a side-benefit of creating a channel through which the wire could be drawn without much fuss. Win-win.
✅Realized my used JB4 was still "linked" to the previous owner's JB4 Wireless app. Per the error message that appeared, I contacted the previous owner, @sdstinger (an awesome fellow, btw, but he sold his Stinger so we likely won't see much of him anymore) and the fine folks at jb4connectkit.com and got them to clear the link so I could successfully connect my app to the used JB4. (I owe a BIG shout-out to Lucas Brashears at DMAC Mobile Developments for helping us get this sorted out in under 30 minutes. On a Sunday no less!).
✅I ran some test runs with my son around town and on the freeway (warm up in Map 0 at first, then Map 1 on the way back home) and logged the results. We had a blast.

Powder coated my beloved ESR RF2's this passed week. I love the way they turned out!! Now I just need to update the center caps...

looks awesome! - carbon fiber vinyl, or you could do a real CF overlay very easy on them

Very true, and something I had not thought of.
I am hoping ESR will come through for me though. They have gel stickies but I am waiting to hear if they have them in the colors I want... lol wish me luck!!

They were satin black am I right?
When did you change your plate? I missed that.

Yes they were Satin Black before. I do a lot of car shows and felt the wheels just faded in too much and got lost. I was originally going to go with a silver, but that bronze when I saw it in person sold me. Should see em in the sun. All metal flake sparkle. Pictures do not do the color justice.
The plate I changed a few months ago. It is so cheap in VA to get personalized plates (think I paid $10) I figured why the hell not. :)

It is a thing of beauty! Well done!

Truth be told, I wanted a blue one, but the only low-miles 2018 AWD GT2 for sale in the local area at the time was Red.

Still, the Red is growing on me. If I got custom plates I think i'd go with ROYLGRD or something.

I took The Falcon (as I've taken to calling my Stinger -- mostly because I have some "PUNCH IT, CHEWIE" license plate frames that tickle my fancy...) out to work today. Did a little JB4 Map 1 driving (I only have 92 Octane in the tank, figured I'd best play it safe). I also updated to the latest firmware just to be on the safe side. Not sure if this is normal, but my front-right wheel chirped a couple of times going up hills or over small bumps when under power. I really need to get those Eibachs on there...

Haha, until a few years ago there was an Australian-built Ford called the 'Falcon'. Towards the end it didn't have the best reputation for technology, style nor reliability.

Ironically, the same could be said of the Millenium Falcon. "Fastest hunk-a-junk in the galaxy" though...
