What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Son was getting his senior pictures taken by a friend. Said friend wanted to take a couple shots of the Stinger. He's an aspiring photographer, he likes to shoot cool cars and post them on his Instagram and hadn't heard of the Stinger before. His family owns only Honda's. Needless to say, the car impressed him. Took him on a bit of a joy ride and he couldn't believe how fast the car was. Couple pics he took of the car. He also wants to shoot the Lightning as the only one he's heard of is the new EV version. The other better pics I couldn't upload, too large a file I think?

Absolutely ruined by that white crap. :(

Covered the hood in an old felt-backed table cloth. Why? Because a particular cat loves my car; to walk on, perch on, sleep on. Said-cat is a filthy slob, as most outdoors kitty cats are. So, oftener and oftener I come out to get in my car and the sunroof, windshield and hood are marked up with kitty footy prints, sometimes actual dried mud: and if having slept on my car, fur adhered to the mud. It infuriates me no end: but mouses are far, much, infinitely, worse: I have attracted this cat (and others) to our yard to keep mousey presence at bay. Thus, I must suck it up. The glass I can clean in anger. Not so much the PPF (and paint, for those less often occasions when footy prints end up on the roof behind the sunroof, and on the hatch lid). If I need more magnets, I'll get more magnets. Each night, I now have one more thing to do before bed. Heh.

(edit to update: I bought a fresh table cloth that is a nice color, and not stained on the felt side, and it is bigger: also I doubled the number of ceramic magnets from 16 to 32)

just put out some cat poison and mouses repellent.
try double sided tape, like, overlap some duct tape to make it double sided and put it everywhere on the table cloth, once the kitty gets that stuck to it, it will learn to quit jumping on your car. what a funny story. i have cats, my neighbors have mice.
or add a cat bed and make kitty nice and cozy.

Hitch in the gitalong with my plan: cat already likes to dig claws into the vinyl: the PPF won't like that! No marks so far that I could see, but off came the cover pronto. Guess I'll just have to suck it up and deploy a wet towel each time I see kitty-carried dirt on my ride. :( (I will not be making kitty cat beds, anywhere, ever.)

I added an OBD-II splitter so I can run both my scangauge and Torque, and am sitting here impatiently waiting for my ECS-10 to arrive later this week. :)

re: cats

If you really want to teach your cats to not jump on something, put a "scatmat" on it. Ever see a cat dance in midair after getting zapped with a few hundred volts when jumping on the counter? It's quite a sight. :D

How well does the splitter work, and where did you get it?

It works well, and I just ordered a cheap one from from Amazon since it's a passive device:

I think you missed the part about wanting cats around my car: mouses. To potentially pounce on and catch the mouses they have to have access to the hood, and even the roof (death from above, hopefully). I have to pay a price for that (besides enticing them with food), apparently: before going shopping this morning, I sprayed and wiped off the kitty footy prints, on hood, windshield, sunroof and painted roof, heh. I expect there will be more of them by bedtime.

Just dropped it off at a body shop after some Karen backed into it at a parking lot. Honestly that entire episode and the buffoonery that ensued could be it's own post...

Main reason why my next “mod” is a dash cam

i feel so alone:cry:. dropped it off to the service department 7am this morning. they are going to have it all day.
here's the list:
1. back left window doesnt go up or down
2. software update for variable exhaust
3. auto start stop doesnt work anymore
4. window lock button doesnt make the windows lock anymore.
5. abnormal screech sound when shutting off the ignition.
6. hatchback rattle.

i think that was all.
i know someone wanted the parts number for the scorpion wing spoiler whatever, but their parts department was even open yet.

looks like ill be sitting at work all day.:poop:

cars should automatically come with dash cams, in my opinion.
i have the blackvue dr900x 2ch. it just sucks because you have to pay blackvue monthly, then pay tmobile monthly and if you use it too much you run out of data, and then the motion detection in parking mode drives me nuts. even if you mess with the sensitivity settings. like right now, i should be able to live view and see what they are doing to my car at the dealership, but if the cameras shut off due to low voltage then you cant access live view.

You should be happy that the ISG doesn’t work, most people turn it off first thing when they start the car. :)

yes i am happy it doesnt work, but at the same time i am paying for it, and then i dont want them coming back at the end saying i didnt get it fixed. also i am worried it can cause some other issue unforseen.

It could be normal to not be working. There are a list of conditions that must be met for it to shut off the engine, such as engine temperature, heater or A/C settings, etc.
Don't know where you are located, but it has gotten a lot colder here and running things like the heater, heated seats, etc. might prevent the ISG from shutting off the engine.

Dang I was looking at the new dr900x plus that came out recently. Heard it’s a great improvement in night vision. Might just get the thinkware u1000 since I don’t have to hardwire to access parking mode.
