What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Im guess that's not Canadia:D, palm trees don't grow there....do they? If so global warming:eek:
Yes , this is Vancouver ...................right on the Pacific Ocean , and while Palms are not indigenous they will grow here and several are planted close to the ocean .

My wife, an LA beach girl, said, "No way" to the palms being in Vancouver. And I, a Rocky Mountain High boy, said, "Yes there are." So, I get to be right this time! :p:laugh:

A bit of background on the Vancouver palms. Much as we like to kid our left coast denizens, Vancouver is a beautiful city - and a trip over the Rocky Mountains for an occasional visit is a great excuse to put the Stinger in road trip mode ...

Vancouver Palm Trees Are Real, And They're Spectacular

On Vancouver:
Mormons in the late 1850s nearly upped stakes and moved to Vancouver Island. This was when Johnston's Army came into the Valley; the "Saints" had moved south to Happy Valley (current Utah County), and left enough men and boys to light the entire SLC area on fire if the Feds tried any heavy handed stuff. Johnston moved his army right through and camped south of the Oquirrh Mountains (Camp Floyd). By then, the Mormons had adjusted to the standoff, which lasted right through the Civil War, as the Mormons waited for the Government to destroy itself and bring on the Millennium (preparing, themselves, to return to Jackson County Missouri, their "promised land"). It never fell out that way; the Mormons slowly lost their popular Millenarian mindset and settled wholly onto the land hereabouts. And Vancouver remained free of the Mormons! :D Otherwise, I'd be enjoying coastal palm trees too, with my Stinger, as a resident instead of a future visitor.

Yes, windmill palms grow very far North if given the right winter conditions. Once established they can go below zero F. I have a 7-8’ one in the mountains of western N.C. that has been through 4 winters in the ground. Sorry to go off-topic or continue off-topic, but I couldn’t resist. :D

I let my wife drive the Stinger for the first time...her first time in the car, and I'm not with her either. She's heading to a church thing with my daughter, while my son and I are heading to his soccer tourney game in her Sorento. The area where his game is at has been flooded, and it rained alot last night (again), so didn't want to have to drive my Stinger off-road two days in a row. IMG_20190518_144128.webp

This is why I am thinking "Telluride"!... For those occasions when off-road is inevitable (and during real shitty days in winter).

I'm still thinking. It took me c. six months of thinking before I got the Stinger. I've just started thinking about the Telly (there, I will persona non grata "over there"; I'll wait … ;))

Heh, I've been thinking of the Stinger since it first came out. I'm kinda glad I waited a year and a half to get a 2019. Some of the features that were only GT2 specific in 2018 made it to the GT1 and others in '19.

As for the Telly, I got my wife the Sorento nearly a year ago (2018 model). If we upgrade it to the Telly, want to wait another year TBH.

You must feel immortal or something. ;) There was no way that, after that test drive, I was going to wait until safely out of "first year model" phase. The car was more than good enough already. And I believed the hype in that Stinger promo book. So I dove in. It didn't take me any time at all. Waiting is what I won't do anymore.
