What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

I went to the carwash today, and met another Stinger owner who, to my surprise, happened to be a Kia engineer working on transmission logic (not the Stinger one's though) and we had a 1hour+ chat about the car and Kia in general. I usually do not talk to people when I go to a carwash but he asked me about my exhaust and it turned out to be a very interesting encounter.

the second one is from Ebay

Guess what I got made?

Looks good! Did you remove the radiator shroud or cut into it?

I cut it in half basically. I was hoping to keep most of the upper half that has the scoops on the side but it wasn’t possible. I was able to keep the lower half so there is still air directed directly to the lower half of the radiator.

Nice, did it make a difference with bigger nostrils?

I didn’t notice any power difference on a normal drive but I did some temperature testing and saw some good results. @VelossaTech suggested trying some higher speed higher gear runs to see some difference. I’m going to post more thoughts in my review thread later today.

Jeez that sucks :D

That’s the goal. ;)

T

Took the badge off I see?

Yeah I had them shave the holes when it was in to be repainted a couple weeks ago. Also shaved the front license plate dimples at the same time. Really cleans up the front end.

Yes! That is a "mod" that I would like to have done sometime. A badge on the back is enough, just like a licence plate. Put everything in the back and let the front end advance on the world without preamble! ;)

@DaJackson i just got my Velossa Tech Big Mouth today. I’ll be installing once the rain clears out. Do you have any photos you can share of what you had to cut? I have a 2.0 so only the passenger side for me. Thanks

Yeah I took a bunch of pics I’ll post this afternoon. It’s pretty easy with a pair of snips.

Great, looking forward to seeing them. Any tips after install or anything you would have done differently?

Nope it’s pretty simple, the instructions are clear and straight forward. I guess make sure you have an extension for your 10mm, a couple bolts are blocked by the shroud and make it difficult to get to without.

New winter shoes, splash guards & first oil change for me! I went with the Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 225/40R19 Front & 255/35R19 Rear. They were highly rated so I hope I made a good choice. :)

Oh, and my new Licence Plate!

Love the plate. Im really curious to see how the brake calipers hold up to corrosion after a few winters in the salt belts.
