What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

^^I tried looking up that tire - Hankook Ventus V12 evo. But can't find any specific references. What I do find is the evo2 which is a summer only tire.

Right you are. They are evo2. I just assumed they were all season.
Definitely going to get A/S when I replace them.

i think they are michelins. came with the car.

@rpoffen I remember I had some summer only tires on my camaro. 1/4" of snow and I'd just be spinning going nowhere. Ideally, if you're going to be driving in the snow a lot, a proper set of winter tires on awd would be t!ts.

@n8hegr8 Clear as mud :). Michelin makes too many tire varieties to know what you have.

I hear you JSolo, but I only get snow once or twice a year. I usually won’t take the stinger in the snow, I have a full size GMC truck with 4WD and big tires when the roads are bad. The one time I got stuck coming home and the snow hit unexpectedly.

welll, its snowing and its too cold to go outside and see what they are lol
i found a picture on my phone.. says Michelin Primacy Tour..."The MICHELIN Primacy™ Tour A/S has the quietest tread design among leading competitors. [2] Enhanced ComfortControl with PIANO Noise Reduction Tuning combines frequency cancelling shoulder grooves and block chamfers with ultra smooth belts resulting in an exceptionally quiet ride."

We had the michelin primacy mxv4 (225/60/16) on our old grand prix. This was about a decade ago (2010). The tire was adequate in the snow. Not great but enough to get by slowly/carefully. I do recall the tire was more about comfort than handling. Not necessarily floaty, but no feedback and sucked terribly in the corners.

I'd say this, for anyone who's not experienced snow in this car yet, find some area to practice the braking to get a feel for what the abs is like. This way you're not freaked out when it happens on the road.

yesterday there was so much snow on my street, my stinger slid sideways after trying to stop, i curbed my right front wheel. sucks. slid on the interstate 3 times. i have an awd. all season tires.
I have all season tread as well. go carefully into any maneuvers in this weather. awd is great for getting started at a light or in any stop and go, but it doesn't do much to resist centrifugal force.

I’m good with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

Those are the standard tire on the AWD GTs. Here in NNJ, we don't get enough snow to justify a full-on snow tire, and we get the week in February where the temperatures get into the 50s. Just ordered a set of all-weather Pirelli WeatherActive tires to replace my Michelin Primacy A/S tires as my winter set up. Getting them installed next week.

I ceramic coated mine for some extra chemical protection. Cleans up real nice too.

Car hasn’t been clean enough for a good picture since installing gold recoated wheels. I’m kinda feeling meh over the color I chose.
But in the meantime I added some heat reflective tape to my Mishimoto cold side pipe.

just my opinion, i think your wheels look great with orange. black would look awesome too.

I appreciate that. I think if I vinyl the trim above the doors gold it will pull it together.

I also need a solution to converting the little chrome hexes in the grill gold too. Thinking of trying a metallic gold clear from Eastwood.

I’ve never messed with Plasticote before, but wondering if I could spray the grill, cut and peel the hexes, paint them, then peel all the plasticote with overspray off.
Or maybe the paint will self level if applied with a foam brush. I’ll have to experiment.

Figure the fake vent trim could be painted to match.

Got a set of CK71's as they where one mod I always wanted to do, and damn do they look good. The stingers really should have come with at least an option for something like this from the factory, even if it was a trim level exclusive or something of the sorts.

Edit - Replaced original photo with one that I spent less than 5 minutes on in Adobe Lightroom

Installed an AEM intake.

Would have installed my JB4 as well, but the retailer sent me 4 IKH24’s and 2 IK24’s… Waiting on my two replacements now. Annoying.

Not really what I did to my Stinger today, BUT The Elantra N I ordered 7 months ago for my girlfriend finally came in. She loves it.
