Vibration after lowering

Potentially over some train tracks that I misjudged, super loud bang after the springs we're on.

Otherwise it was like that from the beginning and the soft stock springs hid it but I doubt that.

Well a bent wheel is heartening to hear for me as I've been looking at Eibach springs and I definitely do not want to deal with vibrations or damage lol.

Do you think it is the lowering that may have cause the bend!?

I was thinking of rear sway bar and lowering springs

Hard to say, had never gone over those specific tracks before. I would do the sway bar first IMO; that's what I should have done looking back.

Rim is fixed, crazy how a bent rim can cause so much vibration/sloppiness. It's back to the original state where there is the intermittent vibration but compared to how it was with the bent rim it almost not noticeable.

Took it to an OK Tire who pointed out the bent rim, I will go back to them to continue with the diagnosing.

The internal structure of the tire could he compromised like the belt causing the vibration.

This is what I was wondering, I'd be surprised if the tire is ok. The bend wasn't that bad it was holding air at least.

Just a final update on this silly saga:

Front wheels were balanced, the bent one was able to be balanced fine and the front left was fine. They got the alignment way better than the previous shop. Axles are totally fine they say so that's good!

The vibration is still there a tad but I bounced some ideas of of them, they were on lunch and accidentally gave my keys to another customer so I had to wait around for them to bring them back. They think the exhaust is causing vibration at the low rpms, so I think the tips will need to be connected at some point to eliminate that.

The storm springs I have are really stiff; they pointed out how stiff they were a few times and said I could also be feeling some oscillation due to the struts not being stiff enough to dampen them. I told them about the Mando ECS mod and they said that should eliminate the weird handling in some scenarios.

So, that's it! Thanks everyone for the help glad this BS is somewhat over with.

So here is why the shaft can vibrate if the cv joint pops out while installing springs or coilovers. The tip of the dog bone in the cv joint that enters the transmisstion side cup has rings with roller needle bearings. These rings tend to want to pop out if the shaft is forced down with the control arm while removing the struts. One of them slid out enough in my case to cause it to lose its rolling needles... I found them all in the grease in the boot folds. The shaft is undamaged because I ran in rwd by removing the awd fuse. I will be able to rebuild this one as a spare.
what tool did you use to seperate the lower ball joints?

If you're RWD it will be more difficult to get the ball joints out since they enter from the bottom and point up; I would say a mallet and just go at them. AWD you can put a jack underneath them since they enter from the top. That's what I did anyway.

Mine

Mine were easy to remove by hand with the slight help of a rubber mallet.

i tried all my tricks, i used to be a good mechanic...now i need to hire a good mechanic. The popular ball joint seperator wouldnt fit.

I had to run a different nut on the drivers side one and hit it with a sledge hammer. Two good blows and it was loose. Passenger wiggled out by hand.

Caved in and brought it to my friends dads shop.( cause Im too old and I suck at garage mechanics now) I bought a used unit from lkq and boom back to smooth sailing. Thanks for the diagnostic to the guy who found the roller pins in the boot!!!!!

You are welcome. I knew this info would help someone. Glad you got it sorted out.

First off; IM A DUMBASS.

I cross-threaded the axle nut on my front right CV axle somehow, which I noticed today when I was putting my used one I got from the states (350 CAD). So that probably had a big impact on vibration and noise that I was getting. That is all fixed.

I also went over my lowering spring install since I was convinced I missed something and I did. I installed the bump-stops upside down on both front struts.

Just to be clear it is fat end at the top, small end at the bottom; doing this has improved the handling(a bit) and drastically improved ride comfort. Storm springs are shorter than the stock ones by a couple inches, but they are stiffer. I assume I was riding the bump-stops super often since I do mostly city in sport mode but that explains why they need to be that way there is a lot of extra cushion from the bump-stops.

Anyway, getting an alignment this week and I have solved my problems. Shout out to @Frenchy_418 for figuring the axle issue out and thanks everyone for the help and input.

Just another minor update, my front left axle is also bad. I can source a cheap one from Toronto luckily. Also my front left rim was bent, having that fixed right now. I heard the clicking while turning in to the rim repair place.
