Vibration after lowering

It's actually pretty common not to align the car right away after lowering so that the springs have a couple weeks to settle. If you align immediately the car will settle after driving a couple weeks and your camber/toe will probably need to be aligned again.
FYI. Eibach disagreed. I called. They said 1 day and it’s settled. I even called bs but they insisted.

I personally waited a month. But there wasn’t ANY settling at all (confirming their statement) . Ride height was exactly the same from the minute I dropped it to when the alignment was done.
I’m too lazy to scroll back up and look at what springs this guy bought… Perhaps different brands have a Tendency to settle more than others

I've got the storm springs, it's less than Ark but I don't have final measurements yet.

So I took out the AWD fuse and drove in rwd to work; the vibration is still there a bit but mostly gone. Such a bummer. I think I'll be disassembling my axles to see if a bearing dropped out on the inner ones when they pulled out during my install.

My experience with aftermarket springs was that they all settle/sag over time. In the past I've run H&R, Tein and Tokico springs. From my experience I'd always wait a couple weeks myself before the alignment but if you ran into vibrations etc. like the OP I'd definitely go in right away to see if that was the issue before I'd go looking for something that wasn't tightened down properly or if something wasn't seated properly.

I’ve had no vibration issues.

was merely conveying what eibach told me.

I always go back to tires/wheels for vibration issues. Maybe they knocked some weights out when pulling the wheels off

The shop that's doing my alignment said they will check the top hats and a few other bolts. Otherwise it's probably an issue with the inner CV joint.

Thanks for the replies everyone, really appreciate it.

You're AWD as well? Did you do your own install?

I drove in Rwd mode yesterday by removing the fuse, today I reinstalled the fuse and it seems to vibrate a bit less. Would this reset something in regards to suspension possibly?

Did you dent your rims?

A bent wheel would get worse as speed increases. Seems odd. I’d get it aligned and see if it goes away.

Alignment is Monday, they'll also go over most of the bolts and torque them just to be sure.

I know you self installed, no vibrations at all??

No. I went for an alignment right away and didn’t notice any vibrations before or after. You might have a wheel out of balance. Im sure the shop will check them for you.

I have no vibrations after my ARK GT-Fs. I have RWD though.
I have the same specs. What do you think about the steering? After installing those springs my car feels weird

mine feels solid. and that's after the guys that installed it left the driver's rear swaybar link loose, so I had to tighten it.

make sure everything got tightened correctly- sway bar links on all 4 corners, make sure all mounting bolts are tight, etc. You can check the swaybar links yourself- just feel around for them behind the wheels. the bolts on the strut bars are also easy to check.

And yes, align the car. the ARK GT-Fs I had on my Genesis Sedan never settled from their initial position.

We'll know more about this situation today :)

Cars aligned, still feels weird. They went over my work and said it looked fine, torqued everything.

The vibration is present at a lower speed now, around 50km/h now but I don't feel it at the previous 65-80km/h range. Talked to the mechanic and he said it's highly likely when the inner CV axle came out one or more of the bearings came out with it. So I may look at the axles next week sometime.

I also notice a LOT of vibration when braking and I feel it in the steering wheel. It could also be this is just the normal vibrations that are now enhanced due to the stiffer springs.

Update:

Seems to be getting better, wondering if it's just the axle "getting used to" it's new position. Either I'm getting used to it or it's mostly gone.

I had the same exact thing happen to my car. I called eibach the had no answer. how many miles did you drive since the install that it feels like its going away. i actually put a gopro in the wheel well and on the drivers side you can see the axle start violently shaking under acceleration. i havent really put more than 300 miles on it since. i hate driving it like that and i dont want to undo all the work to bring it back for a warranty and then redo the springs just to have it happen again. so i just let the car sit there and show it to people..looks nice drives like shit

I feel ya man, it's just disappointing. Had I known it would go this way I wouldn't have lowered and would have done sway bars. You're AWD??

It's still there, it just seems like it's happening less.

Do you do the install?? Did you pull out your inner CV while installing? I'm still leaning on the theory of one of those bearings coming out.

I'd like to see that video if you have it still.

That sucks. If it were my car, i'd take it to a private shop and have them inspect and fix the drive shaft. It will cost you but you risk damaging it further by swapping the stock springs back in. A private mechanic will also be more attuned with how to fix the problem rather than just charging you for a new one and replacing it. Might end up not costing that much.

This is where I'm at, probably going to have a shop diagnose it I'm just a bit fed up with it. Trying to find a local shop that deals regularly with lowering/ modified suspension.

I had my passenger front shaft swapped by a good working used unit this morning. The vibration is completly gone. It set me back 545$ canadian for the part, labor and taxes. The good part is there was no core deposit, so I have my broken shaft at home. I will open the inner cv boot and see what went wrong later today, stay tuned!
