If there's no way to tell that this big mouth ram intake improves the performance of our Stingers, it doesn't feel any different on the butt dyno, there's no mph gain, no real intake/turbo sound improvement...then why would we buy this? Because it looks cool?? There doesn't seems to be any real argument to go forward with the purchase, isn't it?

Agree with the above. You can’t dyno these. They seem to help with heat soak as they keep my filters cooler to the touch. I’ve noticed a big difference there over stock. Post #35 is probably the best testing you can do to show benefits of these.
I’d say with an aftermarket warm air intake these are a must. The stock snorkels are useless without the air boxes because you no longer have the negative pressure from the container box to pull in cold air so you are mostly sucking hot engine air.
The best way to get around this seems to be placing the intakes themselves behind the grille, but the only design that did that is no longer manufactured. It also required the removal of the entire bumper to service the filters. In speaking with my mechanic as long as air continues to flow through the restrictive opening to the airbox, then the gains from any snorkels will be limited. The snorkels allow for more air to enter the snorkel, however this leads to the opening of the airbox which feeds to the intakes and engine and that opening is quite restrictive. You can force a large amount of air into this opening, but the size will restrict how fast that cool air will reach the intakes. We need a bigger opening here. Have you come up with a solution to circumvent this restriction?

I'm kinda feeling the same thing. Just put on the Injen dual CAIs and I feel that I don't hear as high pitched rip when I get on it in sport mode as I did with the stock air boxes.I will be sure to raise this point the next time I go in and see what he says. With that being said, if I don’t use custom snorkels it may be best to go back to the air boxes with a K&N high performance air filter instead of my Tork intakes.
One thing I do recall, roughly a year ago, was that acceleration at highway speeds felt by the seat of my pants was quicker with the air boxes then my current intakes. Maybe your explanation explains why. I was using 101 octane at the same time so it could be a combination.
