Uvo display restarting itself

Well in our case, the radio station frequency in which the issue was present, took down the HD signal and that solved the problem. A couple of days later the HD frequency was back and the issue was gone. So they must have had something changed in the way they transmitted the signal. What ever it was it was not being processed correctly by the radio.

If you can give the radio station a call and describe the issue, they probably have had other listeners with the same problem.

So I just updated my Navigation software to the V13.5 and it seems to have solved the problem (knock on wood) with my UVO resetting itself. With the new NAV software installed, all of my other SW and FW versions were updated to the following versions
SW Ver.: CK19.USA.SOP.V108.190720.STD_H
Firmware Ver.: CK19.USA.292.190613.MICOM.D
Nav App Ver.: DAP.NAM.KMC.190613.755e5d54
Map Ver: NAM.12.47.44.510.105.4

Old version that had the UVO reset problem was:
SW Ver.: CK19.USA.SOP.V099.180806.STD_H
Firmware Ver.: CK19.USA.286.180612.MICOM.D
Nav App Ver.: DAP.NAM.KMC.180725.f0e3f7ca
Map Ver: NAM.11.47.44.465.105.2

Thanks for the info. Did you pay for the update or were you able to get it for free from the dealer?

I was able to get it free from the Kia VIP Line (855) 454-2847.

Bought a KIA Soul EX about 9 mos ago and had no problems, until I went through a car wash. Came back into my nice clean car to find that weird problem with UVA cycling the radio off and restarting. I will take into the dealer ASAP.

I have had the same problem, but it always goes away before I think to get a service call scheduled. Prob has happened 2 times since i have owned the car. I have had my 2018 GT2 about 8 months, one time it even persisted after turning the car off. It was def on the radio, but i have no idea what station.

Maybe I can just make a an appt and try to get a free map update out of it. It was super annoying

Talk to either the dealership or call the VIP line and get them to send you a map update. If you can’t for some reason, the SD card can be ordered for $30.

Hi, wondering if you had any issue after the software update. Last Saturday I went to my local dealer and asked for the software update. Because they saw the issue before and I was not using the HID option and the issue still happening, they agreed to replace the radio unit. I am waiting for the new radio, but not sure if the new radio will have the new SW version or not.

Nope, no more issues after I updated it. You should be able to download the SW/Map updates for free now, you just need a SD Card to store it.
