UK version ambient light.

What does headlight delay even do? And yes, I have the longer list of lighting options.

Well it seems it is now an UK option for £140.00 on new builds.

Please don‘t mix that up. What you mean are some simple white or red (you can choose that on your order) leds. That is NOT the Ambient Lighting. You won‘t get the led strips. Once again: NO Ambient lighting in EU cars - not even for extra money.

skip to 8 minutes 20 seconds for the ambient light bit.
This ambiant lighting really looks like an after thought.. Only one line on the passenger side? this is not what people want these days.

Here some people do this aftermarket:

I almost had it installed (200bucks) but the problem is that in the day time you have a white plastic tube going over the alluminium trim that doesn't look good. :(

Some people like to add some shiny star stuff on the door (not my cup of tea though):

I agree , if the light strips are there . back to regular programming :

Ok so I went to the dealership and inspected the stinger on the show room floor. It had the strip lighting in the door and in the aluminum trim and the proper software installed and i showed the sale guys how to operate it. It worked just fine. After knowing what to look for I went out to my car and noticed the LED strip lighting installed in the door..

Next step I will bring the car in next week to get my first oil change and hopefully they will be able to down load the proper software and fix the problem. I wasn't impressed with the lack of knowledge shown but hey.. it is a Kia dealership and this is a very new car for everyone.

They will fix the ambient lighting, inspect the heat shielding in the drive train tunnel (having the heating issues) and inspect top to bottom the whole car making sure every single option that should of came with the car is existing and functioning.

As for the UK/Korean owners, have you looked under the door arms to see if the LED strips are there or is there a filler panel?

I believe the GT Limited in Canada is full spec , have not seen any OEM option that these cars dont have . It's not very Canadian to feel smug though ....................:laugh:

Well, just to nitpick, from what I can tell, the GT Limited doesn't have the side passenger seat adjustment buttons shown in the pic below. Also, doesn't have the cup holder cover or Deep Chroma Blue either.

I'm sure I can live without the first two (and I've seen a video where the cup holder cover console was somewhat easily DIY swapped).
However, the fact that Canada gets all the features it does on the GT Limited at least lets us know that there is no practical reason why we can't get them next door.

When I spoke to my dealership they hadn't heard of the ambient light either, I wonder if Kia's training worldwide is missing this page? Lol

I'm just going to put a multi colour (that's how you spell colour) torch in the footwell, set it to red and let it roll around, that'll look amazing.

The top button moves the seat back forward. The bottom button moves the entire seat forward. It's to make room in the back seat area...
What market I wonder ?? not a bad feature , but I wonder if it ever made it to market , the only markets with the cup holder cover were in Asia I believe ...............someone will know

Someone else posted that particular pic, however, my wife and I saw it in person on the Korean Spec demo car that we saw in a showroom. It's on the side of the passenger seat. Of course, my wife immediately noted that it was a great added value feature because it would allow her to move the seat for kids to get out without having to run to the other side of the car or having the passenger do it. I guess it would also allow older back seat passengers to let themselves out more easily.

I had to quickly let her know that it was just one of the several features on the Korean spec car that we would not have in the US so as not to get her hopes up too much about what to expect.

Almost all Kia cars have these buttons on the side here. Even the base optima, if I recall correctly.
I wonder what kind of market studies they do before deciding that this kind of feafure is more suited to a certain market.

Hey now, this I like. He even installed the LED cup holder and door handle sills. I agree, on the CDN version, that whole LED strip should have extended to the driver's side. Please post any more images of some funky Korean mods you come across.
