UK version ambient light.

Oh no, you can feel smug but then must instantly apologise for feeling smug.
SORRY !!! really Sorry !!! ......................:rolleyes::rolleyes::p:p

We get the lights but not the configurable coloured ones.

well that just plain sucks. How difficult would it be to change it.

Btw, how do you know this?

Well, Q2. was answered here Stinger - Kia Owners Club Forums - Page 1

I don't remember the exact thread but I'm sure it was discussed.

As for Q1. Very Hard I would assume ...

1. The LED's may be only a single colour so assuming you could change the controller, you still would only get one colour.

2. The LED's controller would need to be tied into the main centre screen - this maybe easy if the wiring was there, but could be hard of not, and then you would need to some how activate the feature in the control box.

So based on that I would say extremely hard.

However ... I had an F-pace for a year (was stolen) and it had configurable lighting, and TBH it's a gimmick. Once you pick the colour you like you never change it, unless you are showing off to people.

Therefore you could just replace the LED's with a colour you like - this is probably easier and doable.

I believe the GT Limited in Canada is full spec , have not seen any OEM option that these cars dont have . It's not very Canadian to feel smug though ....................:laugh:
I hate u ! Lol I want it all! :p:D

I doubt that you get the ambient light strip around the glove box and in the doors anywhere in Europe - even if it had no color option. We are not talking about the simple led option.

No Ambient lights in all EU Stingers. It's like KIA had a big pool of features and every country had to pick something that they won't get. I was really disappointed when I heard about it, because I would love the colored lights inside the cabin.

^What this guy said. that's exactly what happened. all dealers in the U.S. were given a multi question survey on how the cars options should be packaged. based on the results, they made the trim and option lines. I remember a big sticking point at the end was deciding if all Stingers or just the GT's should get the Michelin Pilots instead of a Korean brand like Kumho or something. my recommendation was making sure there was a cheap strippy model that got the 3.3 TT. I felt like that was the most important thing. get the great engine and pay extra if you want all the tech.....

Ok I seam to have a UK car in Canada.MVIMG_20180227_160653.webp

This is starting to make me worry, if there could be other"options" missing.. I hope this is a quick fix.. maybe needs to be turned on in the CPU.

Can I get a confirmation from other fellow Canadians with limiteds that they actually have this option before I take this further please and thank you.

Hey @Zotto are you sure yours is a Limited? Do you have the HUD? On mine, the lighting options are like this: IMG_0543.webp

Yes sir, see picture below. I have been in talks with Peter, from Brantford Kia seeing he is the most knowledgeable stinger dealer in Canada with the most helpful videos I have found for information regarding our versions. He has told me the GT and GT Limited do in fact have this option with pictures to prove.

Guys, of stingers in Western Canada, would you mind confermind that you do have this option. I am going to my the dealer today to question this. I don't want to hear that the stingers are option different in different parts of Canada. Please and Thank you.

My concern as well is what else is missing that I haven't tested. I.E. launch control, corner assisted head lamps, water sensing wipers.

Weird! Hopefully it’s simply the wrong software installed on your Stinger... maybe the UK version... you should have ambient lighting strip along the aluminum strip on the passenger side as well as the front door pockets...

Agree , ask your dealer to physically demonstarte all the features , they should have done that during the delivery orientation , good luck

Oi, this is a forum for UK spec cars, so we can all get annoyed about not having ambient lights. lol.

On a serious note, if it is just a software requirement to enable the ambient lights, I wonder if it can be put in to other spec cars...

Well it seems it is now an UK option for £140.00 on new builds. I wonder if the lack of the ambient lighting is because we do not get the custom configurator but Sport+ instead? It would suggest the lighting needs to be installed rather than a software update / fix ?

That would be interesting! @Zotto, have you seen Sport+ when you turn the drive mode dial?
