I have to throw some money at this man. Need to support such passion.

This is the fastest stinger? The car has been out almost a year and tuners have only been able to shave a second off? Are a lot of people not tuning this car or something? High 11s is good for boltons and a tune, I'm just surprised no one has upsized the turbos yet and done internal work. Or have people done that and run into problems?

Congrats, amazing accomplishment, hopefully more to come. Next milestone is to break 120mph which is not for off anyways.

It's a new platform with an ECU that is new as well. It takes time to crack them and fully understand what is going on. Right now most tunes are a piggyback solution that just manipulates what the ECU is seeing, resulting in different outputs for boost, etc.

I think once the ECU is cracked and we can get a full flash tune or other solution that allows for minute manipulation of more parameters within the ECU we will start to see lots of progress...

One of the forum members here lives in SK. He says there are some pretty wildly modified Stingers there. We just don't hear much about them on this side of the Atlantic.

TMS record may only be a North American achievement.

@xot1 are SKs drag racing the Stinger over there? Any record numbers you can share with us?

Shaved a second off? It runs 13.5 stock on a decent day. 2.5+ seconds is MONSTROUS.
 
I would love to see it go 10s! What would take to do so??

Shaved a second off? It runs 13.5 stock on a decent day. 2.5+ seconds is MONSTROUS.
bad math is bad, 13.5 to 11.98 is 1.52 seconds. Also people have ran high 12s stock, if you're comparing best stock run to best run period that's actually less than 1 second faster. Granted it does take a lot of power to drop from a 12.9 to an 11.9, that is a big difference and awfully good for boltons and a tune.


I would have been surprised if no one had after a year! Very nice, have they worked out all the bugs and have they actually ran the car yet? Should easily smash an 11.98 if tuned properly unless they're running realllyyy conservative boost.

No drag times are known yet. Drag racing is not as popular here as in the US, so most of the racing is illegal street racing at night (rolling from 60mph)... and I do not hang out with this local community so I have no knowledge of any new broken record.
But!!! there is a legal drag racing competition coming soon and that car is going there so we will know soon.
I should add that many people online have doubts about the reliability of the car, since there is not a lot of feedback.

That upsized turbo looks freaking MONSTROUS compared to the OEM one!! A little lag maybe, but I can't even begin to think what that's putting out in terms of power!!
 

Those foam filters aren't doing them any favors...
I'm surprised by the effort being put into these. The Stinger isn't what you would call a traditional drag race car. It's big, it's heavy. The lotus elan chassis wasn't really designed for drag racing. That said if you are serious about drag racing the stinger, anything less than a standalone EMS, big turbo upgrade and nitrous to spool it is just amateur hour, and that's at a minimum and still won't get you sub 10. I just don't understand the endgame with this car, it's not a great drag racing platform nor is it a super great track monster either. It's a grand touring car. If you want a great platform for drag racing there are an infinite number of cars less than 5k that are readily available and modable. Get a lightweight chassis for sub 5k, and an engine for another few grand. Once you get your standalone ems running right you'll be running sub 10's for under 10k. Nobody buys a 30k+ grand touring car to drag race it. It's like wearing a clown costume to a wedding, it just doesn't belong there.
