As far as you know is there any chances that the dealer was in a hurry and they did not drain all the old oil and that is why my stinger was overfilled?
I wouldn't rule it out, sometimes the management or advisers put on pressure to get done faster and faster. Thankfully you caught it before it became an issue. Like you said, just check after each oil change you get done and if there's still issues you can take it from there.
Not a lot of point in speculating why it happened. It wasn't malicious or anything, probably just an oversight. Just politely mention it next time and ask that it be double checked before leaving the service shop. Or double check it before leaving the parking lot.
