Why u need to warm it up and idle to cost pollution? it not 70"-80" old car. i usually just start and go.
even u need to warm it up, isn't the car have remote start?
i use my UVO app on the phone to remote start the car for if the temp is very low.
I'm on the OP's boat here, I've been able to do that with all my infiniti's, bmw, MB, and porshe. it's one of my biggest pet peeves on this car's system.
I know this thread is old...and I did a short search.....so heres my question....lol
My car has remote start key fobs which are locked up and out of the way....so yesterday me and the wifey were doing some shopping....walking up to the car and the crazy thing starts up...what did I do...lol? its never done this before....I was fishing around in my pocket.... Wash
If you have the factory remote start, the regular key fob can be used to start it, no need for the separate fob.
( the car must already be locked) you simply press the lock button then either the hatch or panic button.
No you just need to be a little less rude. Not sure why you want it locked nobody's going anywheres with it. Theres probably a good reason for it though.
First off. The car can be driven if it’s running without the key. It’s can’t be restarted once shut off.
I believe the OPs concern may not be that someone will necessarily drive away with the car but maybe he just wants to keep the contents inside safe from passers by?
Either way. I agree. It’s stupid we can’t lock the doors once it’s running.
Agreed. I happen to get my gas (and daily allotment of 2-3 Monsters) in a high crime area. No way in hell am I leaving the car unlocked, much less while it's running, while in the store. It's not a major inconvenience, but it'd be a nice option to be able to set.
You need to add remote start to your car. When you start the car with the remote, it stays locked. When you open any door, it shuts off. So, if pulling in to a gas station, all you have to do is shut it off, get out and lock it, then start it with the remote.
I sometimes take the dog with me (he loves sticking his head out the sunroof), but on hot days I lock it and restart so the A/C will keep him happy while I run into a store for 5 or 10 minutes.
35 years ago I use to leave the car outside on the road windows down and sometimes leave the keys in the ignition. I think it was more of a memory lapse thing.
Sits in the passenger seat with his head out the sunroof, or sometimes back feet standing on the rear seat and front feet standing on the center console. When I got him he could stand on the passenger seat, put his front paws on the window ledge and just peek out. Now he sits in the seat and has to duck down to look out the window. GSD
I saw the Shepherd ears in silhouette in your avatar, but not until now did I consider where the doggie was perched (sitting!?). It looks like he's using the center console, posing. He must be yooge.
